Come as you are - SIBM, Pune

Come as you are - SIBM, Pune

#BigInYourLife Who doesn’t love the enchanting smell of fresh parantha’s with Acchar on a rainy morning? And the fun of sneaking a bite every now and then during the Geography period in school is unparalleled. Freshwrapp preserved those tasty moments that I’ll cherish for a lifetime, and not to forget, the fun we had during recess with the makeshift ball we made out of the leftover foil. Right from our uniform, to the school building, to even the sole of our school-shoes, everything that we had, somewhere, somehow was connected to Aditya Birla Group of Companies. I would like to share 3 lovely memories that were #BigInMyLife:

Aditya Birla Group has played a significant role in my life on account of the various brands across so many sectors. From Pantaloons to Allen Solly, from Van Heusen to Louis Phillipe, from UltraTech Cement to Idea, the presence of Aditya Birla Group has indeed touched some aspects of my life.

It happens when you least expect it… The biggest thing in anybody’s life in this generation is phone. Not just any phone, but a smart phone with great connectivity and services. And during my stay in Pune, especially in Lavale campus, Vodafone-Idea has been a great companion, providing the best services all around. I still remember, when people around me would crave for network, I would be enjoying my internet services. It might have made the others jealous but I did turn out to be an advantage to them as well. Because soon I had become the “hotspot woman” in my group. Thus making me popular too. And then came branding, wherein I would recommend everyone to use Vodafone-Idea services. There was a time as well, where I just felt I should have been declared as the unofficial brand ambassador of the network, just like the very famous airtel lady. Could have been a great branding though, if thought about. I come from an Engineering background, worked in manufacturing sector. And working in manufacturing sector has its own pros and cons. Pros being learning from the experienced, hands on experience and great exposure. But everything comes with a cost. And before even I realized, I was already paying its cost in EMIs, that is my foot injury. Working on assembly line requires to be standing for long hours in safety shoes. A point did come where I wondered, my fitbit should start counting my standing time than my daily footsteps. It surely would have been more. Those hard ,dark, thick as the skin of a buffalo, kind of safety shoes, which in itself weighed about half a kg added to my weight and pain. This regular wearing of this shoes lead to an internal bone pain on my foot. Already my feet were somehow managing to bear my weight and now these shoes were and added thing. I really pitied my feet. And because of already having a slight tendency towards flat foot ,(cherry on the icing) the pain would increase exponentially with time (it did remind me of all the complex graphs I had studied in my school and college). Consulting doctors and physiotherapies had become a regular thing, but the improvement didn’t seem exponential at all (now the decreasing curve came into picture). Then came Aditya Birla Hospital, as my knight in the shining armour, to take away all my pain, which it almost did. To my surprise ,things began falling back in place. What a relief it was.So, somewhere or the other, I do owe my gratitude towards Aditya Birla group. And because of its great ties with Tata Motors, my treatment also got reimbursed. So , basically, directly or indirectly, ABG’s ties too did wonders for me. It did turn out to be win-win for me at least, if not for the insurance people.

Recently I went to Connaught Place, Delhi for shopping with my younger brother. We went straight to pantaloons outlet to shop as that is my brothers favorite apparel store. I casually asked my brother that what is it about pantaloons that you like so much about it. He gave a simple yet convincing response which I completely agree with. He said, if you are looking for something fashionable with good quality material and pocket friendly then pantaloons is a place to be. Then as we went back home and I researched a bit about pantaloons to learn how can one apparel store have so much impact on a youngster’s mind when there are other major apparel store out there in the market with similar offerings. There must be more to it. There must be something that pantaloons is doing differently which no other apparel store is doing. To my realization, the answer to this is very simple. Pantaloons is catering to the needs of youngsters. A wide variety of apparels, trending fashion and pocket friendly price tag, this is where it changes the game for Pantaloons. This is where it sets Pantaloons apart from its competitors. In today’s world, for a business to be successful all it takes is identifying the needs of its target consumers and then catering to those needs. This is what Aditya Birla Group is doing different and it’s not just with their apparel sector but through their other subsidiaries as well in telecommunications sector and cement sector to name few.
