PANTALOONS is the first thing that comes to my mind when I think of Aditya Birla Group. In the last 4-5 years, Pantaloons has become my go-to brand for all kinds of clothing utilities. My journey at EY started with Peter England shirts and trousers and today I am writing this article wearing a Byford t-shirt in the library of NMIMS where I am pursuing my full time MBA.

Back in mid-2000, Mobile phones were starting to take over but high call charges stillrestricted the users from talking long hours and many small cities in various corners of Indiadid not have the luxury of STD services which also had a drawback of incurring huge upfrontcost on both the caller and the receiver. Residents from small cities and town had to make avisit to the nearest PCOs after 8 in evening when STD rates were relatively lower. Anotherchallenge of using PCO services were long queues because this was the time everyone postwork wanted to reach out and have a conversation with their near ones. The problem onlymagnified in small cities where the number of booths were not in proportion to thepopulation that turned out in huge numbers to avail the services.

On a typical Mumbai evening, while returning back from college, the sun was setting and in a moment of time it started pouring down. With a laptop in my bag and without an umbrella, I decided to quickly find a shade as my savior. It was a concrete sunshade under which I stood.

As far as the ambitions so far are concerned, in my opinion, the setting of ambitions is a never-ending process, which remains in the progressive stage forever. And, the word “challenge” might also hold varying levels of hardships for every individual.
Never Loose Focus – Shubham Gupta, NMIMS Mumbai
Being a part of joint family has its own advantages and disadvantages. Thus, slowly over a period of time my parents decided to separate their ways from the joint family into being a nuclear family which meant that we had to shift into another home in another city. Before finally living in the new home it required renovation and changes in the structure of the house which for me meant that I will have to leave my job to help my parents since my father was not physically health to undertake the work on his own. Leaving the job was a very big decision which I took to help my family and thus took responsibility for getting my new home renovated after separation from joint family. In this journey I provided emotional & mental support to my parents during this transition period. Finally, I had decided to pursue masters once the work gets completed. Making this decision was very hard since I was forced to consider staying with my parents by my relatives since my parents health conditions were not good. It was hard decision for me. But finally I chose to complete my higher education thinking that this is the best option for me and my family as well in the long run. Today, I am glad that I am pursuing my MBA and will be completing it within a year and will then be able to take good care of my family as well. Thus one always need to keep an eye on long term and never loose focus of what one wants in his or her life and must do it passionately no matter what happens.
