Not Just A Multinational Conglomerate, But Also An Inspiration - That’s ABG For Me | MDI Gurgaon

Not Just A Multinational Conglomerate, But Also An Inspiration - That’s ABG For Me | MDI Gurgaon

In the race to achieve success and being handsomely paid, one often turns a blind eye to the deep rooted problems within our country and society. While growing towards success is good, growing together with everyone around us is much better. And this is one of the most important principles in my life. Which is why I decided to do my part for the upliftment of the society by starting my own NGO.

Having associated with Aditya Birla Group since 2006 as my father is associated with Idea, I have had the privilege to explore many brands of this conglomerate. I have seen the kind of employee satisfaction this company focuses on, be it employee engagement or incentive provision. Aditya Birla Group takes good care of its employees and keeps them satisfied. Having closely observed the work culture and provisions provided to its employees, ABG has changed the lives of many associated with it. Apart from sharing the employee bond, i have been closely related to the firm as a loyal customer. What drives that loyalty is the kind of services the brands under ABG provide that binds one to always come back again. We all have at some point of time used a product from this Indian house. All those years we opened our lunch boxes and removed the aluminium foil to it, we did not know we were using an ABG product. Astonishing, right? From corporate clothing by Allen Solly to comfort clothing and accessories from pantaloons, I have grown up with the group. Aditya group has made its mark in the industry by performing at par and even better than most of the brands present. With brands like Ted Baker, Aditya Birla Group has made a mark in the international fashion market too. With this, it has taken India to compete with brands worldwide, bringing laurels and respect. It has made a difference in my life; I am sure it has also in yours.

What an IDEA, ABG! MDI Gurgaon

What an IDEA, ABG! MDI Gurgaon

I had been running a fever for the past fourteen days. I have had bouts of fever before. Everybody suffers from fever multiple times in their lives, but this one seemed different. I would wake up with a jerk at night because of the sudden chills that it gave me and sweat as if a portion of my body had melted away. I, being the nonchalant and carefree teenager that I was did not pay much heed to it. However, when the fever did not break for two weeks and my body started taking a toll, I decided that it was time to visit a doctor. I hadn’t told my parents much about my situation because I wanted to act like a tough kid and not worry them too much, so they weren’t totally aware of the profundity of the situation. When we consulted the doctor, he ordered an X-Ray, a CT scan and a few other tests and we got them done immediately. The next day while discussing the reports the doctor asked me to go out of the room for a moment as he wanted to talk to my father. Now, when a doctor does not want to tell you about your own medical condition, it is scary. I was scared. Very scared. The immediate response was to search for my symptoms on google. Not a particularly intelligent thing to do in that situation. ‘LUNG CANCER’ the mobile screen screamed and immediately my body began to grow cold. My father talked to the Doctor for about 15 minutes and I can tell you that those were the longest 15 minutes of my entire life. I had prepared a eulogy for myself in those 15 minutes, planned how to spend my last few days on the planet and decided on the parting gifts that I would give to my parents. In the meantime, my father came out of the doctor’s room and to my disappointment it wasn’t LUNG CANCER. It was a relatively tame diagnosis- ‘Tuberculosis’. What a let-down!
