The Journey So Far - Tanima Asthana, TAPMI

The Journey So Far - Tanima Asthana, TAPMI

I have faced many challenges in my life but the one where I feel had to put my heart and soul to get the job done is at my workplace. I worked in the communications sector and I tried to understand the intricacies of the industry. I got the excellent opportunity to work for  the company as it was one of my dream company. I grabbed the opportunity when it was presented to me in under-graduate final year. I worked tremendously hard to convert the interview. Once I did that I started improving myself on a daily basis. This I had done by updating myself with the reading about the latest business news and learning about new things. I have kept one motto in life that is to improve every single day and to keep learning and pushing towards my goals. I have an inbuilt confidence which aids me in overcoming difficult challenges in an organised and calm manner. I have worked upon this and tried to assess even the slightest fault so that it can not be repeated in the future. My mentors and colleagues were the ones who gave me real-time experiences and helped in me looking at the world in a more optimistic and practical manner.

A Long Shot To Success - Japish Aggarwal, TAPMI

A Long Shot To Success - Japish Aggarwal, TAPMI

The road to success is a long and treacherous one. And struggle is a part of that journey. My earliest childhood memories involve being competitive with my cousins and trying to excel in academics. As a result, my parents pinned their hopes on me that I would amount to something big. While pursuing B.Com, I realised that this isn't my calling and I was ambitious to get into a good B-school. When I attempted CAT for the first time, I got a decent score which pushed me to believe that I can definitely do better the second time around. The preparatory phase was very dispiriting because I lost a loved one during this time.I didn't even realize when I slid into depression. I confined myself in my room, refusing to speak to anyone. The desolation affected my studies and bouncing back was really hard. My family kept pressurising me to study and I couldn't concentrate properly. My mock scored were dipping and so was my confidence. But three months to CAT, I found peace in meditation and yoga, studied harder than I ever thought was possible and got a good enough score to apply to some of my Dream B-schools. Through sheer hard work, I cracked the interviews of three of them and chose TAPMI. They say when you lose someone, you find God. I found my true purpose in life.

A few years ago, I was packing my bags for starting a completely new phase of my life. I was moving to a new city for further education. I was very scared, hailing from a typical joint Jain family, where I was not allowed to go anywhere after 9 o'clock, I had to get settled in a completely unknown city all by myself. My Grand Maa came to me with a jar full of homemade tomato pickle and told me that this will make the tasteless hostel food tasty. I was so happy as the pickle is one thing I can never live without. I need pickle with Pizza also ( I know this must have raised a few eyebrows, but yeah this much I love pickle).

Satisfaction and its enablers. This single word has completely changed my life. Earlier, I used to think that money is everything. It is the enabler for money. But I was wrong. I realized that money cannot give you everything. It provides you partial satisfaction in terms of physical amenities and assets.
