Challenges I Faced And Overcame - Manusha Nandikonda, TAPMI

As per Indian stereotype, after intermediate examinations, a student is expected to join Engineering, MBBS or Charted accountancy program. I was one among those students who had the glossy anticipation of better pay and chose the decision of joining charted accountancy course. However, within few months I realized that CA study was not to my interest and if I continued my study I will be venturing into a field that I might not be satisfied with. Hence, I decided to change my career path and started preparing for CAT to get admission in a well-known college in India. I was not sure whether my change in career will affect my life in a good or bad way, but at that moment I took a decision and decided to go for an MBA. After a yearlong preparation and wait, I finally got into a reputed B school in India. I was very sure to work hard and get the best out of this program and my efforts didn’t take time to reflect as I got an internship opportunity in Google. This was one of the dream companies for majority of the students in the college and I was the only person selected for the internship in this company. This was one of the major breakthroughs I achieved in recent years, which boosted my confidence level to a new extent. I now reflect and appreciate my decision to leave CA and go for an MBA and am very sure that my future will be full of success and adventures.

From the starting of my adulthood, Aditya Birla Group has been a part of my journey. When I completed my schooling in 2010 and was taking a step towards my new journey to graduation, my father gifted me a phone but selecting a sim with affordable service and 24 hrs connectivity was tough. This problem was resolved by my father when he suggested me to go for IDEA connection whose connectivity was good even in the areas where networks like BSNL, Vodafone or Airtel was not feasible. This is how I got engaged with ABG for the first time in my life. After completion of my graduation, when I got selected in Infosys, I had to suit up for my corporate life journey. As a young Mechanical Engineer, I wanted to work for a manufacturing firm especially iron and steel manufacturing firm. As I graduated, I was selected by major steel manufacturing firm. I was very happy for myself but life without challenge is as bland as a good dish without salt. As I started working for my firm, I was made the In-charge of a shift at a very early stage because the company I was working for was short on manpower. This meant I had to lead a team of 10 operators, some of whom were exactly double my age. However, I was confident about my abilities and was sure I will be able to handle the team efficiently.
