Up until the teen years rolled in, I was a child and that is why I only used to shop wherever my mother used to drag me by hand and buy them for me without too much of a thought from my end.

 Aditya Birla Group is active in 14 industry sectors and has also achieved national leadership in several businesses. It is least likely for any Indian to not have come across or used products that are from this group. Since the time when we started to go to school, we have been using something very basic i.e. Freshwrap, freshpakk and superwrap to pack our food in the tiffin boxes. Some of the ABG brands that I have used in my life are Pantaloons, Allen Solly, Van Huesen, Forever 21, Liva, People, etc.

For example, Hindalco it ranks among the top 5 global aluminum majors it’s share price was at Rs.52 in 2000 and now it is priced 4 times more. The group's firm Aditya Birla Fashion & Retail Ltd sells in-house brands such as Louis Philippe, Allen Solly, Van Heusen, Peter England and People which were top choices for formals clothing but are now offering casuals too. With Idea and Vodafone merger they have acquired 31% market share in telecom industry. Ultratech cement in India’s number 1 cement brand and is holding that position for a long time now.

Aditya Birla Group has been instrumental in making changes to the way Corporates view CSR activities. In a corporate world where the most influential MNC’s indulge in CSR activities solely because it has been mandated by the Government, ABG has stood out. They have incorporated it in their work culture that it is most important to give back to the society. Their employees strive hard to accomplish these goals of the organisation. It is amazing how the company’s mission for its CSR activities “To actively contribute to the social and economic development of the communities in which we operate. In doing so, build a better, sustainable way of life for the weaker sections of society and raise the country's human development index” has been followed with such commitment and dedication by its employees. Being a survivor of the Kerala Floods, I am aware of how efficient their Code Red app is. The link to download the app was circulated across all social platforms. The society had placed its trust on the efficiency of the app taking into consideration the many contributions the group had made to the society. The damages caused by the floods were effectively minimized because of the efforts made by the team at Code Red. God’s own country will always be grateful for the group’s contribution throughout ‘drowning’ times.
