The step-up of Aditya Birla Group(ABG) post-independence from Grasim industries (the leading producer of viscose staple fiber) to the behemoth of rayon grade pulp manufacturing, one of the largest selling cement manufacturer, a leading producer of aluminium/copper(Hindalco) and the undeniable leader over textile industry is similar to the rise of India from a newly independent third world country to a global superpower. The change in the scale of operations and the humongous presence of 14 industry sectors came after a long thorough professional exploration and sustainable growth plan. In my important steps in life, products from Aditya Birla Group(ABG) had a crucial role to play. My father’s gift for my IIFT interview was a Van Heusen suit. The confidence and elegance of the brand helped me to perform well in the later stage of the selection process. Today while I write this article from my IIFT hostel room I feel that Aditya Birla Group(ABG) somehow resembles my metamorphosis from a cocoon (read as a newbie in the corporate world) to the butterfly (read the explorer of different spectrum of corporate life through management education) perfectly. It will also remain an integral part of my daily life.

It was the first 4G network in my city and still the best out there. Being from a small city my first branded clothes came much later and now that I do realize it is Peter England which is my all-time favorite.

It in a way set a precedent to my life. Similarities were drawn between me and the brainchild of Aditya Birla Group. Just like my twin, Peter, I was prophesied to be smart yet casual and sharp yet comfortable to stay with. At the age of five in the year of 2001 when I joined school and had my first lunch outside home in a plastic tiffin box, it was kept warm by a silver foil manufactured by the newly acquired Anupama Foils Limited, a new addendum to the Aditya Birla Group. The significant event of me joining school and Kumar Mangalam Birla joining in as the chairman coincided in the same year of 2001, yet again making Aditya Birla Group an inextricable part of my life. The transition from a lower middle-class family to an upper middle-class family was made possible through the financial inclusion led by Aditya Birla Capital and its efforts in strengthening NBFCs. In process making theirs the third largest NBFC in the country. The definition of formal clothes has been shaped by Louis Philippe and Peter England. The choice of perfectly priced cellular network connections with a surety of cyber safety was made possible by the merger of Vodafone- Idea, protecting the market from a monopoly in a highly privacy sensitive market. I hail from a small village in Uttar Pradesh which was underdeveloped at the time of independence. When I was born, our village started to develop mainly because of the liberisation policies of government. Ultra tech cement had a huge role to play in development of infrastructure in our village and several others in the country. It is said that if your foundation is strong, then you can achieve great heights. Several qualities that make Ultratech cement number one in its field are integrity that products made to last and not deceive the customer, commitment I.e. delivery on promise, passion, seamlessness and speed. In the same way, my foundation of basic education was very strong which helped me to get into IIFT that is among top 10 B-schools of one of the most competitive country in the world. I had inbuilt some of the above qualities in myself like honesty in doing work, perseverance to fight for my goal, passion to achieve my goal regardless of adversity which helped me pass through various stages of life with flying colours. When we renovate or buy a new house and ultra tech cement is used, it brings positive energy to our home which is essential to lead a happy and stress less life.
