The impact of Aditya Birla Group in my life is massive. However, before highlighting how much significant it is in my life, I would like to take you all through a timeline from when it was introduced in my life for the first time, to how it has become an indispensable part of my life. The first time I received my pocket money to buy clothes, I decided to give Pantaloons a shot. And I was shocked to see the quality of the clothes they made at such affordable prices. It played a significant part during my undergrad days, as I have many memories with my friends shopping from Pantaloons. However naive this memory of mine is, this was the beginning of ABG in my journey. From the Vodafone-Idea network that I have to the favorite Kurti that my brother gifted to me from Pantaloons, ABG's role has been continuously growing in our lives. I am sure that just like me, ABG has had made an impact on millions of lives.

Aditya Birla Group is one of the fortune 500 companies in the world. Its Business interests spans across 13 plus sectors and it has been the leader in every one of them. With a market cap of 44.3 billion US$ it operates in sectors which include viscose staple fibre, metals, cement, viscose filament yarn, branded apparel, carbonblack, chemicals, fertilisers, insulators, financial services, telecom, BPO and IT services. The roots of the ADITYA BIRLA GROUP goes back to almost a century before independence and its role in India’s economic history is tied with the country’s quest for political freedom. It has touched every single person’s life in multiple ways since inception through its various brands and has changed the life of millions of people through social welfare programs. Its social work has expanded to 5000 villages reaching out 7.5 million people annually through the Aditya Birla Centre for Community Initiatives and Rural Development through which the group provides welfare in health, education, infrastructure and sustainability for our communities. The effort put by the group can be best understood by their vision statement, which states "To actively contribute to the social and economic development of the communities in which we operate. In doing so, build a better, sustainable way of life for the weaker sections of society and raise the country's human development index". The group has carried forward the philosophy of Shri G.D. Birla, who believed that the wealth one makes is to be put into trusteeship for all the shareholders, to utilize and invest a part of your profits for the welfare of the society at large. It has implemented the concept of 'sustainable livelihood' has channelized resources to ensure that people have necessary means to meet their both ends. The achievement of the group does not end here, What comes next is how the group touches our personal life.

Aditya Birla group, the legacy of 162 years, has been catering to needs and wants of people since 1857. It has been supporting lives by providing variety of products in different categories, be it agribusiness, cement, chemicals, e-commerce, carbon black material, finance, mining, retail, telecommunications, textile, wind power. The Aditya Birla Group sells in house and other branded apparel via brick and mortar and online stores. The group’s firm Aditya Birla Fashion & retail ltd sells in house brands such as Louis Philippe, Allen Solly, Van Heusen, Peter England. All these brands caters to people on different occasions and provide them with best of options to stand out in public. To reduce the inconvenience caused to shoppers due to scattered locations of different retail brands, Aditya Birla Group operates Pantaloons, which are multi brand retail stores that it acquired from Future Group. In respect to telecommunication industry, Aditya Birla Group operates Idea cellular (now Vodafone Idea) that comes with pocket friendly data plans for Indian customers. Also Aditya Birla group has Ultra Tech cements that provides a strong foundation for dream houses of many. In this manner, Aditya Birla Group is touching lives of millions and billions of people in all possible manner with its wide array of products, and I am no exception.
