P2: Tell me more about your work ex. Me: Marketing analytics. Team lead. P1: What techniques do you use? P1: How do you ensure audience similarity? Me: Mentioned that a different team - audience selection team does it but this is how it is done. P3: What tests do they do? Me: Mentioned 2. P3: Asked to explain the tests. Me: Told them I wasn’t aware of the details since another team performs it but explained the concept. P2: Tell me more about the other techniques used. Me: Mentioned previous project on stepwise linear regression. P1: What is linear regression? P1: Why stepwise linear regression? P1: What do you mean by interdependency of input variables? What are the female specific policies in your firm? M: Mentioned 1, talked about maternity paid leaves & mentioned since I’m not married / pregnant I’m not sure about the details P1: Okay then tell us something else M: Mentioned another policy that is in talks, soon to be executed P1: What will you do as a part of HR for females? You can tell no, if you can’t come up with anything. XLRI HR is holistic and prepares students in other aspects as well. Mentioned elective again. (I honestly didn’t expect them to ask HR modules so I didn’t go through it) P1: You mentioned a few BM modules. Yes, we do offer it in HR. But did you apply for BM? Did you get a call? Interview for BM got over? When is it? Let’s say you get both offers, what will you choose? M: Smiling. Without any disrespect to the panel, I would choose BM. P1: That’s alright, we respect our students’ decisions. Why should we choose you for HR? M: Briefly reminded them of my HR experience. Me: Mumbai, Maharashtra P1: asked me about some politician Me:I wasn't aware so said not sure P1: Okay seems politics is not your strong suit, no problem, are you working? A: yes, talked about my startup and the business model P1: Seemed content, it's good you seem passionate when you speak, good personality trait Me: thank you P1: okay you did finance? Me: yes P1: I am an operations professor, P2 is finance, he will ask you about finance P2: some term I didn't hear properly Me: sir can you give me some reference, I'm sure I can explain P2: how do companies get funds, why would you ever give away equity Me: answered properly about debt/equity, why both are imp for example you can't give away equity for fulfilling short term cash crunch or working capital, debt comes into play then, combination of both are necessary, that's why there's a thing called debt/equity ratio which talks about the balance, spoke about how some industries are capital intensive, coal, production, finance, heavy rnd based companies etc who have to take a lot of debt hence higher d/e ratio, how other companies have lower but at the end both are necessary.
