The Journey to a B-school is one that tests your patience, analytical skills and management skills well before you actually board the bus. As it is late January and most of the candidates shall be facing the next hurdle of GD, WAT and PI, in this article I will like to share my experience as I had prepared for this phase.
The Indian Institute of Management, Udaipur has completed its Summer Placement process for the Post Graduate Programme (class of 2018). Having recently moved to its new, sprawling 300-acre campus at Balicha, the institute has managed to successfully place its largest batch yet. Of the 181 students in the batch, 157 sought placements through the Institute while 8 students opted for the summer entrepreneurship programme offered by IIMU.
IIM Trichy clubs Drishtikon and Enviro organised a movie screening followed by a guest lecture on the topic “Navigating development discourse and the (imminent?) flood” by Dr. Manu Mathai based on the documentary Before the Flood. Drishtikon is an initiative of the Library Resource Center (IIMT) to screen films, documentaries, plays, and launch books on social issues. Enviro Club is a student body which is invested in organising activities to raise awareness towards environmental issues and practices, and carrying out a research on sustainability.

With CAT all done and dusted, it's time to enter the toughest phase of the entire process - preparing for the interviews. There is always that element of gnawing tension at the back of every aspirant’s mind - scores and percentiles; interviews and WATs - deciding factors in the proverbial rat race.
Innovate, a word said by many, understood by very few. What is innovation? Is it doing something that has never been done? If that were the case, the Wright Brothers can’t be called innovators, because there were various others thriving to make that one vehicle that could fly. Is innovation coming up with something no one has ever seen? Apple could then never have been called innovative.
