Pallav Goyal scored a 99.98%ile in CAT 2022 and will be joining IIM Ahmedabad for his MBA. He completed his graduation in Economics Honours from Hindu College After which he started working with ICICI bank as an Ascend trainee. As Shakespeare had said “Life is a Stage”, for me that stage/ backdrop of our lives is architecture. I was fascinated with the idea of designing and playing a small role in the life story of individuals. I was thrilled when I got admission to the School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), Delhi. During the course, I learned a lot more than just design. I learned how to deal with pressure, how to handle criticism in a constructive way, how to manage deadlines, and even how to survive on less sleep! But above all this, the most important thing I learned was how to defend your ideas, and how to make your own unique idea functional and cohesive.
IIM Ranchi's 2023 placements report is out! The institute witnessed about a 7% increase in both the average and median salaries for the MBA batch of 2023. More notably, the highest salary touched a whopping 67 lakhs, which increased the impressive average salary figures for the top-10% and top-20% of the batch. Some big names hired from IIM Ranchi's largest ever batch; these included Amazon, Microsoft, American Express, Accenture, McKinsey, AB InBev, and Tata Steel amongst many others. I had a shortlist from practically every Day Zero company on campus during my first year of my MBA. I even got to the final rounds of a couple of my dream companies. Yet, I couldn’t convert any of them. This is a non-engineer who thought he had cracked how to ace interviews. Oh, what arrogance! I wish I had a more romantic answer to why I didn’t get an offer. However, the answer is plain and boring - I wasn’t prepared well.
