IIT Bombay. A dream for many. A reality for some. After scoring 98.99 percentile in CAT 2021, I sat ready for my interview with SJMSOM on 6th March 2022. As the interview process was virtual for our batch, it took place on a platform called Gather. It was an amazing experience as before the interview, I was able to virtually move around the SJMSOM campus and interact with people just like I would have in person.

From a distant desire to pursue an MBA somewhere in the future, to make it to one of the top B-Schools in India, Anirban’s journey has been nothing short of unrelenting hard work, bits, and pieces of goof ups in between, being completely overwhelmed by the exam in the first attempt to calming down himself and acing CAT 2021 with a 99.83 percentile. But what has been the most remarkable feature was his unyielding belief in himself to do well, even when most of those around him had either lost faith in them or had become highly sceptical about his dream after his not-so-successful first two attempts. On top of that, Anirban has also secured a job in the Ministry of Home Affairs alongside his CAT preparation and a highly hectic IT Job. Anirban believes that good preparation can help you ace several exams and, in this write-up, he tells us about his journey.
The VARC section of CAT 2019 is considered to be one of the toughest to date as it was a turning point in the way CAT sets questions. The way to crack these RCs is still the same, i.e. relying on the main idea but to do that students are required to draw many implicit inferences to solve the questions. Akash was born and bought up in Delhi; he did his schooling at Guru Harkishan Public School, Delhi, then he went to Delhi University (Keshav Mahavidyalaya), where he studied commerce and graduated in 2019 His academic scores were as follows. Class X - 9.6 CGPA; Class XII - 87%; Graduation - 7.2 CGPA He has also passed Level 1 of the CFA Examination. Fresh out of college, he joined ZS, a management consulting firm where he worked as a Strategy Associate. After a 98.5 %ile in XAT 2022, Akash has joined XLRI Jamshedpur this year!
CAT 2022 registration form is finally out and the exam would be conducted on the 27th of November. In this video, we have discussed the important documents required for registration, the registration process and also the common mistakes to be avoided while filling out the CAT form.
