My Team Won The TBLA Case Competition In 1st Year Ft. Akriti Srivastava, InsideIIM’s Best 50

It takes a special kind of person to get out of his or her comfort zone and work towards a new, solid goal. But in 1st year of MBA at IIM K, Akriti and her team decided to do just that. With classes, summer placement prep, resume verification, pre placement talks, projects, etc., Akriti and her team decided to participate in the TBLA case competition. One of the only 2 teams participating from 1st year, they ended up becoming national winners of TBLA 2018. Pratik Sharda was curious too, and having worked in different types of clubs during his engineering days, decided to attempt getting into placecom. When his scores started suffering, Pratik decided to buck up and get his act together. From 8.50 GPA, Pratik managed to score 9.20 GPA in Term 6. Virtual internship has become the new normal for the class of 2021. I saw a lot of LinkedIn posts from my friends describing their virtual onboarding process. My internship was not virtual but my onboarding was virtual. My internship experience was full of learning. I learned logistics from the driver during the truck travel, sales from the sales executives during the customer visits, operations from the operations executive during the MDC check-ins, last-mile issues from the LML drivers during customer delivery, wholesale market from mandi owners during the market visit, strategy and VC investments from city head.
