According to me, life throws at us a new challenge every day and our ability to deal with it and learn from it makes us who we are. I would like to share one situation which, for me was one of the most difficult situations to handle, and it made me learn some very important aspects of life.
A few things are inherently attached to our lives so deeply that we fail to observe their magnificence even as we use, feel and see them every day. These few things stay for long with us, making our lives better in the background. ABG is the same for us. When I read the topic, how big is ABG in our lives, the entire coverage of its importance in our entire lives slowly starts forming massive shape in my head.
I have always been called a very clear minded and level-headed person by people around me. This is because I have generally had a very clear idea of what I was going to do next, be it what my next school was going to be, what I was going to study after school, which college I want to target and what I want to do after that- which was MBA. Now that I am here, uncertainty has started to creep in slowly and gradually. I came to MDI with a very clear direction about what I wanted out of these next two years and where I wanted to be two years, ten years and twenty years down the line. This is not to say I was hundred percent sure that I will be doing that only, but I had a general sense of direction. However, I am no longer sure about which committees I want to join, which stream I want to specialize in or what I want to do in these next two years.
“What lovely roads. It would be great to drive super cars on these roads.”, this was the first thought I had when I entered through the gates of my graduation college which is VIT University Vellore. I was in my first year when I had the thought of organizing a big premium event in my college. But I didn’t know how to go about it. There were other big premium events that were already being organized in the campus. And so, I had the option of either repeating the same events or coming up with a brand-new event. However, as days passed by, things got busy and I had to concentrate on my grades and other club activities.
The transition from school to college is filled with a myriad of new experiences, and these experiences are often posed as challenges one might in an open and relatively more independent environment of the college. One of the greatest aspects of college life is the presence of student run societies and clubs that provide a wide range of exposure and learning opportunities. Like any other active student, I also spared no effort in deeply engaging and participating with one such group. I directed my attention into the Entrepreneurship Cell of my college and by the second year of my academic journey, I scored a position as the Marketing and Content Head. It is during this tenure that I faced a challenge that required me to think rationally and act promptly.
Do not let your fire go out, spark by irreplaceable spark in the hopeless swamps of the not-quite, the not-yet, and the not-at-all. Do not let the hero in your soul perish in lonely frustration for the life you deserved and have never been able to reach. The world you desire can be won. It exists… it is real… it is possible… it's yours. This line by Ayn Rand has made all the difference in my life from the moment I read it in a college that is redolent with the fragrances of heritage and tradition; Birla Vishvakarma Mahavidyalaya, built with the help of Birla Education Trust. Although ABG and Birla Education Trust are not related in many ways but the values are the same. It was at this college and after it, during which I had my defining moments.
