Vinod Gupta School of Management, IIT Kharagpur has successfully completed its summer placements process for the class of 2016. Despite almost doubling in batch size, the batch of 2016 has had an outstanding summer internship process.
Sreedevi has recently been placed with Ernst & Young, Trivandrum, as a Business Analyst through the SCMS Cochin School of Business campus recruitment season of 2015. She is ecstatic, exclaiming “I could not believe I had bagged the job. The first thing I did was call my father.” This job is a clear result of her dedication and foresight: “I did my graduation in Math from Trivandrum. I always believed that management with math is a good combination that will help me find a good job and it did!”
So you have given CAT/XAT and other exams. And you haven’t made it to the top Bschools. How do you evaluate Tier 2 BSchools?
A firm believer in destiny, Minu Varghese Cherayath is glad that her family moved to Kerala after living for many years in Surat, which is where she graduated. That’s because it gave her an opportunity to look for B Schools in God’s own country, and SCMS Cochin School of Business is the name that popped up wherever she looked. The decision to attend SCMS Cochin was a no brainer for Minu. The institute has given her the best possibility to pursue her PGDM goals, and this has led to an enriching academic journey, culminating in a placement with a prestigious name like Deloitte.
Staying true to its fame of being the best among the new IIMs, IIM Ranchi completed its final placements for the 2013-15 batch (both PGDM and PGDHRM) with a whopping average salary of 13.4 lpa for PGDM and 12.6 lpa for PGDHRM. 3 international offers were made with the highest international package standing at 55 lpa and as many as 14 lateral offers were made. A total of 150 students participated from the PGDM batch and 42 students from the PGDHRM batch. The outgoing PGDM batch had the highest number of students among all the new IIMs, a fact that makes these salary figures look even more incredible. 106 companies visited the campus for PGDM and 30 companies did for PGDHRM offering much coveted profiles to the students.
The big themes emerging from IIM Calcutta's Final Placement Season this year are - Strength in Banking & Finance and Consulting, Rise of E-Commerce and Technology and the number of students looking at starting their ventures straight from campus.
