IIM Ranchi successfully completed the Summer Placement process for the batch of 2014-16. This was the 5th year for its flagship PGDM programme and the 3rd year for a one-of-its-kind PGDHRM programme. There were substantial improvements in the placement scenario this year as average number of offers per company as well as the average stipend offered went up substantially for both the batches.
You would think the premier schools of India will lead the way in what can be described as a super hit placement season across campuses. IIM Bangalore's placement season only strengthens that belief. As has been the trend for this batch everywhere, E-Commerce is the sector firing on all cylinders. Amazon and Snapdeal made 17 offers each. Similarly, the private equity and venture capital scene at IIM Bangalore seems to be up again (It could also just be that they are revealing more names this year. Either way it looks good). The Consulting domain has snapped up a whopping 30% of the batch with the biggest names in the business all being there. Banking and Finance though half the size of Consulting still outshines Sales & Marketing. Another remarkable statistic is that 60% of the batch had a PPO or a Lateral Job offer in hand before the placement season began. Nearly 33% of the batch bagged PPOs in a batch of 400 odd. It is more than the batch size of a few schools like JBIMS!
The unprecedented growth rate of the Indian GDP seems to be translating well for established B-schools across India. KIIT School of Management, Bhubaneswar - or KSOM as its popularly called - is already seeing an upswing in the average salaries. The highest salary offered thus far has been 13.5 Lakhs CTC by the Oman-headquartered Khimji Ramdas LLC. The average salary offered so far is 4.78 Lakhs. This is a significant increase of 27% from last year, when KSOM had registered an average CTC of 4.0 Lakhs.
It’s that time of the year for B Schools when the placement season gets underway and management hopefuls see their dreams turn into reality. Vignana Jyothi Institute of Management (VJIM), Hyderabad one of the top management destinations of Hyderabad certainly has a reason to cheer because the placement season has gotten off to a solid start. Several top rung companies have made their presence felt on the campus and many of them are repeat recruiters, which is clearly a feather in the cap for the institute.
