Where STRATEGY was DEMYSTIFIED - SOIL Annual Business Forum

School of Inspired Leadership (SOIL) hosted its Annual Business Forum on 21st February, 2014 which was woven around the theme - ‘Demystifying Strategy’. The event served as a platform to generate ideas on the formulation and implementation of strategy. It was attended by eminent Indian business leaders and international thinkers. The Inaugural address was delivered by Dr. Ajay Bakshi, CEO & MD, Max Healthcare and the event was marked by a valedictory session by Mr. Prithvi Shergil, Chief Human Resources Officer, HCL Technologies Ltd. The conference witnessed participation of representatives from various organizations including Bosch India, Ranbaxy Laboratories Limited, Schneider Electric Infrastructure Limited, Max Life Insurance, Eicher Motors, Times of India etc. and Deepalaya, Sakaar Outreach from social sector amongst others.

IIM Calcutta to host its 7th annual International Entrepreneurship Summit

The trend of entrepreneurship is being rapidly embraced as a positive way to create the jobs of the present and the future. Entrepreneurship has gone beyond being just a means of transforming dreams to reality; it has become a tool to transform the present into the future and to shape and design the world we will be living in for years to come. Come this Saturday, the 22nd Feb 2014, IIM Calcutta is all set to host its 7th annual International Entrepreneurship Summit (IES7). The Entrepreneurship cell at IIM Calcutta, in association with “C.Start” (The Mini-Incubator) & CEI (Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation), will be organizing the event. The event will be graced by a host of stalwart entrepreneurs who will interact with participants and share their experiences. Participants from beyond IIM Calcutta will be attending the event in huge numbers.

TEDxIIMShillong rides the eclectic bandwagon, spreads the power of ideas

IIM Shillong hosted its second TEDx event on 15th February 2014. The event saw nine esteemed speakers sharing their ideas and experiences on the theme “Riding the Eclectic Bandwagon”. The event received enthusiastic participation from the students and faculty of IIM Shillong, students from other local institutions and officials from the Government of Meghalaya. The wheels for this event had been put into motion several months ago. A series of promotional activities, such as ‘Know Your Speakers’ contest and Eclecti‘click’ – a photography contest, had generated great enthusiasm among the students, which culminated in the event held on Saturday at Pinewood Hotel.

IIM Shillong team wins finale of Wipro’s Earthian

IIM Shillong emerged as winners in Wipro’s Earthian sustainability programme awards which received a participation of 600 teams from all over the country. They were awarded a prize of Rs. 1.5 lakh, beating the twenty-five teams which qualified to the first round and nine teams which made it to the final round.
