Tips For Logical Reasoning - CAT 2016
Since one section is devoted to both logical reasoning and data interpretation, those of you who are weak at data interpretation, have to rely highly on your logical reasoning skills. But it can be a hit and miss situation for most people and it is considered as the toughest part for many of the CAT aspirants. The best thing about Logical Reasoning Questions is that at times they come in groups or clusters, that is, information would be provided in a paragraph form followed by 3-4 questions pertaining to it. This is the best part as if you follow through with the information, all 3-4 answers are in your pocket. Topics covered under logical reasoning include, family tree, coding, arrangement, conditional 'if and then' statements, etc.

Vocabulary is the building block of any language and it is an integral part of all the entrance exams and is often neglected because of low return on investment with regards to time. Also, there is a lack of certainty when it comes to learning vocabulary. That is, what’s the assurance that the words you learn are the words that would appear in the test. The CAT notification is out. The test will be held on December 4th, 2016. IIM Bangalore is conducting CAT this year. Students who haven't started preparation have been given a lifeline as there are still more than 4 full months to CAT 2016! This is the first time in many years that the CAT is being held in December. Online registrations for CAT will begin on August 8th 2016.

Walking The Tightrope - Balancing Act Of A Studying Mother
Talk about women empowerment. The time is now! A few days back, I read an article in the newspaper on companies increasingly institutionalizing initiatives to retain women who take a break in their mid-30s. In India, at least 4 out of 10 women give up their careers by the age of 30, largely due to familial reasons including maternity leave. To control attrition at this level, companies such as Infosys and SAP Labs have come up with apps to engage with women during their maternity leave. Apart from these, there are several start-ups such as Sheroes that are offering part-time, flexible job opportunities for women who want to return to the workforce. While I was exploring all such alternatives, somewhere deep within me was this desire to pursue an MBA. It gives me immense pleasure and pride to say that IIM Calcutta, too stands in this league of institutions who has given me this wonderful opportunity to fulfill my dream.
