4 Things I Learned From My MBA at XIMB

4 Things I Learned From My MBA at XIMB

With the coveted MBA degree from XIMB safely stored in the folder marked with title “Degrees, Certificates & Mark sheets”, euphoria of graduating from a reputed B School gradually diminishing and with ample time in hand which was unthinkable in a fast paced MBA program, I look back at the journey which lasted slightly less than 2 years and ask myself what exactly are my learnings from this journey. I wonder, Is it classroom learning? No. What did I learn from the heap of management books? Not much. Did the case studies make the difference? Not really. Then what is it?

How I Prepared For IIFT 2015

How I Prepared For IIFT 2015

IIFT is a paper which is significantly different from CAT. Similar quant level, easier Verbal section (a good vocabulary is a must) ,  number crunching Data interpretation and easy LR. It also has a general awareness section. You have to rock in atleast two of the sections. And by rock I mean attempt correctly almost 90% of the questions. I went for a kill in the verbal section, since it is one of my strong areas. For general awareness, various Facebook groups help a lot. There are also online courses by HandaKaFunda . Waise, I'd recommend joining facebook groups for General Awareness . They're pretty dynamic and helpful. For Quant , I tried to just aim above the cutoff marks . For LR , any coaching (TIME/CL) module is helpful. For DI , going by this year's trend , try to attempt less questions but you have to be damn sure about what you are attempting . Doing all DI questions in the IIFT exam is a bad idea. Plus , IIFT  intentionally adds some wrong questions for you to identity and move on (they had some wrong questions in DI this year). Two things you HAVE to do if you need a good score . No excuses . 1) Get hold of the strategy Gautam Puri , Career Launcher shares some weeks before the actual IIFT exam . I did and stuck to it religiously 2) Solve all previous year IIFT papers
