My journey with Abbott began the moment when they arrived on our campus for the pre-placement talk. My sister being a dentist I was always curious about how a pharma organization works and always wanted to be part of one. Through Abbott I got the opportunity of working with one of the best pharma organizations on this planet!
Placement season is one the most nerve wrecking time during the first year for a majority of b-school graduates. Being able to convert your dream profile requires a certain level of confidence and composure. Two words prominently highlighted in the job description of Fidelity Investments were “Technology” and “Finance.” One was my area of experience and another my area of interest, which seemed like a perfect opportunity to amalgamate my expertise and interest.
“Which is your preferred location?” and I thought Really! Is it happening? Eureka! the toil ends.
Two months of Summer Internship with Flipkart has indeed been a journey, a journey of transformation of not only knowledge but of inner calibre. We stepped in the arena of the new vibrant campus of Flipkart in the Embassy Tech Village. A group of 20 interns from different premiere B-Schools came with all our energy to step into the corporate hemisphere. Welcomed as “Flinterns” with heart touching surprises made us feel so very special, made us feel as a part of the organisation right from day one.
I was selected as an intern in MIT domain of Wipro. MIT refers to Marketing, innovation and technology and this department was recently added by Wipro to implement innovative and emerging technologies. When my project location came as Bangalore, my joy knew no bounds since I had earlier stayed in Bangalore while working in IBM. I was excited to meet my old friends, pleasant weather and more challenging works
As summer placements are based on prior MBA experience and academics, I would say to be oneself would be a good strategy and avoid been overprepared. During the interview, I was confident with my previous experience and showed confidence that I will be able to do whatever Internship demands. So, attitude matters a lot.
