It was a warm September noon, precisely 19th of the month at 4:52 PM, when I woke up from my power nap to a continuous ring from the phone’s notifications. I woke up a little annoyed, and checked my phone, only to be taken aback! I had been selected for Deloitte’s Summer Internship. Now, this was something I was not expecting at all and that’s why despite all the nervousness, I rushed back to my hostel room right after my personal interview to sleep and wake up from the dream.

I interned with the ‘Structured Credit Trading’ desk of Principal Funding and Investments group (yes, the name is fancy) in the Securities division of Goldman Sachs Bangalore. As I write this article, I am sitting in the comfort of my home, while most of my friends are having their last day of internship (my internship ended a week earlier - phew!).

I joined L&T technology services on 2nd April. For which I had to shift to Airoli, Navi Mumbai on 1st April, my birthday! I spent all day on shifting and travelling here and there 2 hours drive one side from parle to Navi Mumbai. My parents came to drop me off and help me shift. They have been a support throughout my MBA. So, just for one day they came. I cursed that day that
Expectations, anxiety, thrill, and an iota of fear, were some of the feelings that gripped me when my summer internship at Airtel was about to begin. I was chosen for the Customer Experience role, and was pretty much excited ( and quite nervous too!) about the project which I would be getting there. The internship began on a very cordial note, where in we had group activities, Zumba session, talks by senior leaders and treasure hunts, which gave us the opportunity to know about the fellow interns, the company work-life, and their vision.
The date was 2nd of April 2018 when my journey with Airtel began. It was a dream come true moment for me to spend the next two months with the industry stalwarts as a Management Intern from IIM Lucknow. My stint started with a 3 days well planned induction where I was exposed to all the functions of Airtel while having some fun activities from time to time. The induction came out to be a true reflection of the culture of Airtel where work and play go side by side. The induction ended with a telecom simulation game which itself a true learning experience and having won that gave me a booster to take on my project the next day.
