Reminiscing the memories of a few months back at MDI Gurgaon, I still vividly remember the moment when I was selected for the coveted Young Leaders Program internship at Airtel. Time flew by really quickly. I had a lot of expectations from my internship, but the experience Airtel provided was much more than that. The primary idea of the Young Leaders Program is to nurture young talent and infuse leadership skills in them. I was really glad and excited about the opportunity and went in with full zeal to make the most of it.

It was Monday morning and there were butterflies in my stomach. I had mixed feelings, excited and nervous at the same time. When I reached the Airtel office, I saw other interns and had a quick round of introduction followed by several fun games. We were given a warm welcome by the senior leadership. I remember one of the senior leader saying - “No question is a stupid question”. Their receptiveness to our ideas and queries increased our excitement and curiosity.

“With Deloitte Digital, There Are Endless Possibilities” – Saurav Mishra’s Journey Of Summers At Deloitte – XIMB
The date was 2nd of April 2018 when my journey with Deloitte India (Offices of the US) began. It was a ‘dream come true’ moment for me to spend time with the many well-trained consultants across different offices in India as a “Management Intern”. The much-touted W2D (Welcome to Deloitte) session was conducted by the Bengaluru Deloitte Consulting Talent Team. We had our ID Cards punched, received state-of-the-art laptops within the first 30 minutes of arriving. We had Instructor-led sessions on “Deloitte’s Culture”, “Business Chemistry”, “Story Boarding” and were aligned to our respective service lines. Kudos go to the Talent Management team for assigning multiple buddies to make the stay at Deloitte smooth.

It was the afternoon between two exams. Gloomy eyes I saw, it was ten past four, but I decided to sleep for some more time. Only a few moments might have passed and I was neither asleep nor awake, I was just hanging there waiting for some wild thought to sway me to sleep and then I heard some sound, I know it was familiar I have heard it before. I knew this sound. I thought I was thinking in my sleep! And, then it hit me, “it’s my ringtone” and I woke up to my ringing phone! There was no name displayed on the screen, Truecaller was trying to find the name but was only loading. It has been few days and Truecaller was not working properly for me. I half sleep I picked up the call, “Hi, it’s Dhruv calling from AP” I was attentive again, the sleep started to sweep away! I was going to Chennai, they have changed my location to Chennai from Bangalore! I felt different, I don’t know if it was due to sleep or was it my fear to go to a new place which I felt at that moment.
