Indeed A Good "Anubhav" - Saumya Ranjith's Internship Experience At ICICI Lombard - IIM Nagpur

The summer internship is usually considered by PGP1s as a 2-month break off curriculum lectures, assignments with a stringent deadline, surprise quizzes and all the similar events at a typical b-school that keep us on our toes. Happy with the same thought, I was waiting for my summer internship to start at ICICI Lombard, in one of the most happening cities in India, Mumbai, the place I had never been to. All packed bags, and a super excited me, arrived at the hotel where I had to spend my two months in Mumbai. Appreciating the warm welcome by ICICI Lombard in terms of paid accommodation in a hotel for two months, I was excited for the first day at the company (especially after almost a year break from my last corporate experience).

Darshan Doreswany's Internship - A Project In The Development Sector With Pradan

When my batch mates were looking of getting into some big corporate houses for their internship, there were few people in my batch, who opted for Pradan, an NGO for their summer internship and I was one among them. The idea behind choosing Pradan was to get a chance to learn about the rural marketplace and understand the problems faced by the farmers in marketing their produce. Apart from this in my 1st year of PGP, I had an exposure to subjects which highlighted the need for MBA graduates in the development sector and the role played by Pradan.

Mumbai, The City of Dreams, also happens to be my hometown. Hardly had the feeling of me being home sunk in than it was time for the Summer Internship to start. And with it, a series of nostalgic thoughts came rushing through my mind. It was like rewinding one full year - being at home, getting ready for work – but this time it was different - the excitement to go to a new workplace, meeting new people, learning and augmenting knowledge and most importantly building new professional relationships. The internship with Union Asset Management Company Private Limited started on 5th April 2017, and being there at 8:35 A.M., I realised I was the first person to reach work. After being asked to wait until my reporting manager arrived to escort me, I saw two familiar looking men enter the corridor.
