1857: The Rising Of The Great Indian Group | Vignesh J,IIFT

While roots of various revolts for independence started growing in 1857, elsewhere at pilani, Rajasthan a cotton trading operations was commenced. Little did Seth Shiv Narayan Birla know at that time that he was laying the foundation of a global conglomerate whose vision is to have a clear focus on each of the businesses. Aditya across different languages means sun and justifying the name Aditya Birla Group have been glowing brighter and brighter since decades and continue glowing. Everyone knows the success story so no point in beating round the bush. Let us see how each individual like me grew along with them.                                                                                                          I came to know that in Hindi Aditya means sun during my third standard. From then onwards wherever I go this name followed me, rather I followed it. Be it in sacks and sacks of cement round my school construction sites, be it in the apparels I chose to wear, be it in the mobile cellular we are using, financial services and the list goes and goes on. A big story in the making since decades. I was dumbstruck by the fact that how a single group could manage and satisfy this much needs. The thing is I have not seen sun as many a times I have seen the title Aditya inscribed all-round me. The success not only depends on a particular group of people it attracted a large chunk of people around all age groups. Though the sun burns itself it makes us sweat most of the times but Aditya group by burning and working hard on themselves always tried to make us cool and chill all time around by showering us with umpteen number of products and services.

Aditya Birla Group – Touching Lives Since 1857| Harsh Manish Kanjar, IIFT

Impeccably dressed, wearing my favorite Peter England Shirt beneath my blazer, I gave an interview which changed my life. Aditya Birla Group was with me when I converted one of the premium B-schools in India. I still remember the first time when I won a competition in school, and the next day I was rewarded my favorite cuisine in my tiffin, the food protected and kept warm by Freshwrapp. Aditya Birla Group did not only keep my food safe, but it was a constant companion in my school lunchtime memories. Even today, these memories put a smile on my face. Growing up, I realized the very important role of Finance and savings in one’s life. With easy access to experts, a choice from hundreds of funds and schemes, regular portfolio disclosure, constant awareness, and stellar service record, Aditya Birla Capital is a guide, a mentor and a brand I trust with my finance. Aditya Birla Group has always been a constant companion in my life.

Aditya Birla group is not just a name, it's a legacy that's been continuing for more than 162 years. Consciously or unconsciously it has affected my life in some way or the other. The first thing that I can associate with ABG is a clothing range that it offers from affordable apparels at pantaloons store to my favorite clothing range of Allen Solly & Louis Philippe. Hackett London & Ralph Lauren are the brands that I want to add to my list as they are still out of my present budget. When it comes to housing then products that are used dominantly are cement & steel and Ultratech & Hindalco Steel comes into the scene as they are leading manufacturer of these products in the world. When it comes to keeping food fresh then Freshwrapp aluminum foil came to the rescue. When it comes to connectivity then  Idea is the brand of ABG which helps me to connect with others and after the merger quality has been improved. In terms of education, I wanted to be a part of BITS Pilani but I was not able to clear the entrance examination & entered into another college. It was a dream that was not fulfilled. Various other products are also used indirectly like carbon in tires of automobiles, preservatives in food, IT services & many other services. So ABG is there always in my life knowingly or unknowingly and plays an important part in my life.

Cherishing Memories with products of Aditya Birla Group | Naveenkumar Ravi, IIFT

Aditya Birla Group (ABG) is a conglomerate that has products lined in the various essentials of my daily life. Starting from dresses I wear to the cement used in the construction of my house, ABG retail products have always been a silent companion. I still remember my school days, when I pleaded my father for buying me the dress from Peter England, assumed it shipped from England especially for people here. Fast forward, to my engineering days, Forever 21 and Pantaloons were the next destination for us, to shop.

Brand Bonds: Bonding With the Best | Jasraj Padhi, IIFT

Brand Bonds: Bonding With the Best | Jasraj Padhi, IIFT

I come from an Odia family which has festivals galore all-round the year like Jeshta Purnami, Kumar Purnami, Akshaya Tritiya, Rath Yatra etc apart from the existing Hindu ones. On one such Kumar Purnami in 1999, when my uncle was getting married, my grandparents bought my father and his siblings Peter England formal shirts. And thus began a new trend in our family: gifting each other shirts whenever there is a family occasion over a festival. As of today, my father himself has his favourite Peter England product, size 44 Nuvo fit, Full Shirt,White. This has been a family tradition for a long time now. As a kid I always used to think that there was no need for the members of the family to do this every year when we meet each other over festivals. Especially when people have different tastes and sometimes the people you gift may or may not like the clothes, we pick out for them. It was only recently, after 6 years of my grandfather’s demise, I realised that over a period of time, how one brand had kept us all together. We had developed a bond with the brand which was difficult to explain and yet so simple. In December of 2018, when we decided to part ways with his old clothes and all we could find were Peter England shirts to donate gifted to him by his sons. This small gesture and routine introduced by my grandparents is what kept the family together in rocky times. There have been marriages, thread ceremonies, chicken roll, matches, fights and so much more attached to these shirts and the road journeys that led upto to the purchase of the shirts. I am the oldest cousin and I used to tell my younger cousins that I am so well versed with the Kalamandir store in Bhubaneshwar, having the Peter England shirts, that I know the nook and corners of that shop by hear.t If we do not meet each other personally, for a long time, my grandmother, who turned 80 recently, goes out and gets my cousins and I, Peter England shirts. She believes in the brand’s authencity and the family looks forward to continuing this tradition for a long long time. It round the time of my grandfather’s passing away, that I decided to become an engineer. Being an undergraduate and then a post graduate student from BITS PILANI, Hyderabad Campus, More retail was a part and parcel of my life for all the 6 years I stayed there. Not once did I ever order any food items / groceries online. Their quality almonds and amazing range of products kept me full all the time. The store representatives knew by name by the time I graduated. The few times if they were out of stock for any product, they would be extremely polite and tell me that before such and such date, the product I was looking for would come up. Such is the customer service. The people at More are among the best customer service people I have ever come across. So much so that the day I moved into IIFT Delhi for my MBA, that is among the first things I searched for. There is this trust that I have developed with the chain and it is has been an amazing bond to share so far.

The Ubiquitous Conglomerate & The ECG of my Life | Parth Javia, IIFT

It was a typical Tuesday morning in a house in Ahmedabad, my house. Everyone was going about their business as usual without second thoughts. It was 9 AM and I had just woken up. My thoughts were filled with excitement and apprehension at the same time as the day I so eagerly awaited had already arrived, the day of my interview for IIFT, my dream b-school. I had butterflies in my stomach just as MS Dhoni has them before any important cricket match. As I entered the living room, I saw my mother in the kitchen packing lunch for my father. She had neatly packed the Parathas in the Freshwrapp Aluminum foil to keep them hot and fresh until lunch time. She had just served tea and breakfast to my grandpa, whom I heard talking on the phone, instructing our farmhand to use Birla Balwan phosphatic fertilizers for our farm back in Junagadh, Gujarat. I had my breakfast and started brushing up on my general knowledge topics for the interview. As time passed, the adrenaline in my blood started rising. I was feeling confident one moment and nervous the other. The roller coaster of emotions was speeding along. Finally, the time had come. I suited up. The Louise Philippe formals topped by Van Heusen power suit gave me a surge of confidence. I looked at myself in the mirror and felt confident in my ability to perform. I finished my interview and came back home with high hopes as my interview had gone well. I donned my casuals from the skult collection and went out with my friends to celebrate.
