“Management Education in the spirit of Magis” which loosely translates to education for the greater good. Whose greater good you ask? The greater good of men, women, society and every other stakeholder an XIMBian comes across. Such is the culture of Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar, an ideology that immediately drew me towards its magnanimity. Molded by St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai – another Jesuit Institute of repute – XIMB was the next logical step for me.
Located in the ‘Smart City of India’, XIMB boasts of a 20-acre campus with 31 years of unparalleled legacy. For someone who has been born and brought up in Mumbai, moving to Bhubaneswar seems counter-intuitive but it also speaks volume of the brand XIMB. Armed with a faculty of Ph.D.’s across streams with industry experience spanning across decades, the pedagogy of XIMB is of the highest order and helps the institute stand out. The XIMB Library, open practically 24x7, boasts of every management book under the sun!
The college is a bee-hive of activity as the entire campus is always buzzing about some or the other event – all organized by student body associations. The campus is also home to the largest college festival in eastern India – Xpressions! XIMB also possesses a healthy sports culture with facilities for basketball, cricket, football, badminton, lawn tennis and every other mainstream sport.
On the academic front, the Career Advisory Services team, frequently organizes corporate talks, business conclaves, guest lectures and ensures 100% placement for its 1st-year students summer internships and 2nd-year students final placements. Top companies like CBC, Deloitte, Godrej, Tata Steel, and SBI Group have been sharing a fruitful partnership with the college for years together.
As I sat down to decide on which college to pursue my MBA from, I was very sure I had to choose an institute that would feel like home, and so far, XIMB has been just that and much more!
Which ABG Division do you want to work at?
I would love to work for Idea Cellular Limited’s marketing team as I believe the company’s unique promotion strategies are reflective of the company’s energy and enthusiasm and working with the company would prove to be a great learning experience for an aspiring marketing professional like me. It’s ‘A video can change your life’ campaign alongside the campaign with Abhishek Bachchan are projects I would love to experience and be a part of.
