I was playing cricket in the nets at my companies ground. Although my mind was on the ground my heart was always waiting for the XIMB final list as I was still accepting the conversion after a decent enough interview and a GD where I hardly spoke anything.
I got the mail from XIMB offering admission. XIMB has given me a chance to maintain its 30 years long legacy. I was thrilled but also a bit nervous because of the hype created about the reservation Quota and all the other rumours around it.
So, in next few days I calmed myself and starting searching about XIMB literally 18-20 hrs a day, there wasn’t a line written on the internet that didn’t go under my scanner. The few things that intrigued me was the rigorous college academics, most of the faculties being Ph.D.s, teaching methodology, roles offered by various companies at the campus and last but not the least extra-curricular activities be it cultural fest Xpressions (east India’s largest fest hosting more than 20000 people) or sports fests.
I joined the campus with a mind full of rumours and heart full of expectations, its been 3 weeks being in the campus and I have fallen in love with this place be it on the academic front or the engagement with the senior’s batch. It’s all been roll-coaster ride in the last few days at XIMB be it the last-minute submission of the first few assignments or the sports and the cultural competitions organised by seniors for the 1st year students, these competitions have helped us to break the ice between the batchmates and helped each one of us to know each other in a better way.
For academic learning experience you get everything under the sun in XIMB’s library which is literally open 24*7 and has 66200 books, 14000 e-books, and 11800 journals what else do you need if you are a book lover and just like to read anything and as much as possible.
As I look back at the last few days I have spent in the campus, I have never felt so close to home. It is not just a place which helps to build your career but also helps you to become a better person. It will always have a special place in our hearts.
