A beautiful day and the morning light and the fun started with the ride. I still remember my last trip to grand pa’s house. The visit to his house has always been a memorable experience for me as I loved the languid pace of life that it had to offer and the unconditional love and pampering that we received abundantly from our grandparents. The house is an ancestral mansion whose bricks and walls have seen stories fold and unfold. The house was renovated 15 years back using Ultratech cement and it still has no cracks and has stood well grounded.

We were heading towards grandpa’s home, singing and cherishing the home made poori and aloo wrapped in Freshwrap that kept it fresh and warm. My mom and I were busy looking for best of the formals for my grand pa who is a retired army officer and loves to be dressed up well. We ordered a formal suit from Van Heusen. Although there were many good shades available in Allen Solly and Louis Philippe but when it comes to my grandpa, no one knows his choice better than my mom. I too got excited by the prospective of new clothes and ordered some classy clothes for myself from Forever 21 and ordered a set of casuals for my brother who is fond of the brand Peter England.

With all the items, I selected to check out but my card wasn’t accepting the pin and I tried really hard but every time the payment failed and as always my hero, my dad, pitched in and gave his Aditya Birla Idea Payment Bank Card. In no time the payment was made and with the ABG payment card my transaction was made hassle-free. My dad who is a loyal brand lover started telling us about the various brands we went through the day.

He told us that all the brands starting from Ultratech to the Aditya Birla Idea Payment Banking Card came under the Aditya Birla Group, one of the largest conglomerates that is adding great value to our lives. Aditya Birla was able to grow in such key national industries as copper, cement, and aluminium after India's independence in 1947. With over seven decades of responsible business practices, their businesses have grown into global powerhouses in a wide range of sectors – metals, textiles, carbon black, telecom and cement. Today, over 50% of Aditya Birla Group’s revenues flow from overseas operations that span 34 countries in North and South America, Africa and Asia.

The trip came to an end and we reached grand pa’s home but what I learned round the trip was how ABG was adding comfort to my life and my family’s life. The group is such a diverse and fast organisation and fulfills its mission of delivering superior value to its customers as it did in my case.

Challenges are the part of life and I love taking up challenges and facing them as they provide us a mean to discover our inner selves. I too have faced many challenges in life and with each passing challenge, I saw myself becoming strong and capable enough to face and work efficiently in any of the difficult situation.

I was a member of the Event Organization Club in my office. We had a fashion show scheduled on 6th December 2018. The leader of the club couldn’t manage this activity due to work pressure and she assigned the task to me and two other people in the team on 3rd December. We took the initiative and managed to get the participation and we started the practice but later many participants started to back out. After a lot of convincing, we participated in the event but lost but also I learnt a lot.

We didn’t win but we learnt no matter what ever be the scenario giving up is not the solution. I learnt how important it is to take ownership when you are leading. If you have to do something take control of it and ensure that everyone who is a part of it is equally accountable for his/her part.

I have held many leadership responsibilities in life and have realized how difficult and challenging it becomes as a leader to convince and take the group together but what mattered to me was how I went about solving and facing it.
