Incepted in 2011, little did I know that I will be a part of an experience called IIM Trichy which is unique in every aspect. The uniqueness is evident in every aspect of IIM Trichy, be it the campus which sprawls 195 acres or the faculties who are wacky enough to link management concepts with Game of Thrones. Being cultural secretary at IIM Trichy, I am bestowed with the job of bringing this uniqueness in the cultural aspect of IIM Trichy. The seniors showed the path that being a growing IIM and only seven year old, to make a noise in the crowded B- School space everything we do should be so unique and stand apart. One thing to quote was how we did our annual cultural and business event Dhruva. Being in an unheard corner of Trichy it is very difficult to do an event here as competent event managers are difficult to find here. We thought of having a unique approach onto this by not finding an event manager first rather than to find an artist who will make things compelling enough for the event managers to contact us and come down to Trichy. The pursuit ended when we found sunburn campus with Siana Catherine to perform in IIM Trichy. That sends a message in event managers’ circles and Chennai based event managers came down to Trichy for the negotiations regarding the show. An exemplary example of handling crisis by having a unique approach to solve the problem which IIM Trichy taught me. IIM Trichy made a noise which the whole Trichy heard and the question of which is that college in Mandaiyur in Trichy never came after that.
What IIM Trichy trains in here are to be unique in your thoughts which is less seen in B-schools these days. IIM Trichy uniqueness is not limited to how it molds it’s future leaders but in every aspect we can consider. National Institutional Ranking framework ranked IIM Trichy 13 which made IIM Trichy stand apart from the other 14 IIMs which were setup under the Eleventh Five Year Plan. An astonishing 35 faculties for 360 student who stays in the campus and are approachable at times so odd even that even Lucifer will reconsider approaching someone. The experience called IIM Trichy is unique and cannot be jolted down or scribbled,
it is an experience which you have to live to see the tinge of it.
Which ABG company you want to work for and why?
Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited will be the company which I will love to work for. Being a fashion buff and who loves to intrigue about how the fashion retail industry works I think my personality and interest line up well with what fashion and retail industry want. I follow latest trends which comes up in the fashion industry that has given me a good taste of colour. These reasons make me feel fashion and retail division of Aditya Birla is where I belong if I have a chance of working in Aditya Birla Group.
