When you enter a B-School, you have your usual worries and nuances to look after, an umbrella, a 6-subject diary, ready to eat food, clean clothes, faculties, type of lectures and many more. But another thing that was on my mind was my desk mate. Usually, your places are fixed and allotted by the administrative department, so my apprehensions, about how the person I would have to spend the next year in classes with were genuine. It was almost as if the PGP Gods had my fate in their hands. So this experience is all about my first day in class.

I reach 15 minutes before class, nervous about the month ahead, and scared about my social clicking with my partner in this place. The thing about your desk mate is that when an hour-long class seems to drag on for eternity, it is this person who manages to keep your eyelids open, keeps the teacher’s bouncers in check and creates an illusion of time being compressed. Later on, after the class, it is this same guy who shatters this illusion and spends hours with you smirking about that one small incident that happened during that weekend lecture. Such a magician, your desk mate. YES, THIS WAS CRUCIAL!

The class starts filling up, rows and rows of students file in, everybody with a significant backset behind them, but as insignificant in this world as another droplet in an ocean. All the droplets forming a wave, waving to each other, creating bonds which would be put under the test of time and would strengthen or shatter. I was still waiting for my partner when the ocean suddenly seemed to part, and a seashell came in. Shining and unique, why in this world would she say 'Hi!' to me is a puzzle to this day. But this set forth a journey that I would take through this beach called MBA with my seashell. And this sand-barren life was transformed into the sunny beach throughout my MBA.

No matter how big or small the waves, the seashell stays on the sands.

Which ABG Company would you like to work for and why?

I want to work for Idea Cellular Limited, in the telecommunications sector because it would give me a plethora of experience in many domains combined. With the telecom sector being as it is now, working for a company such as Idea which seems poised in a precarious situation, I look to learn about strategy, marketing as well as IT. Global partnerships with AT&T also would provide a rich and diverse experience if given the opportunity.

I think with my current knowledge set and experience in digital transformations, I would make a good fit in Idea Cellular.
