For B-school graduates, just out of college, it becomes vital to understand the DNA of a company they are getting into. Knowing the values and understanding what makes them different from the others becomes paramount.
For the fresh IIM Shillong graduate Deepam Sahu, it was his induction program that did the trick of knowing his organization Tata Steel better. Employees walking into Tata Steel, come up with this long-standing idea of the social values that Tata Steel holds, and through the induction program, this and a lot more gets an affirmation.
Working on different projects, getting an opportunity to develop the business of Aashiyana, an Individual Home Builders (IHB) platform, and interacting with stakeholders in his first couple of months in the organization, prepared him to take up further challenges.
Deepam explains how his induction helped him further to go into difficult territories and manage sales better with stakeholders. He also shares his experience on the ground and how that gave him an idea of how the real-life business works, a stark difference from the classroom lectures he had attended during his IIM Shillong days.
Watch Deepam talk about his experience of working for over a year currently in one of the most prestigious conglomerates in the country; Tata Steel.
Tell us in the comment section below what you think about his journey and if you would like to work and be part of the Tatas!
