IIM Raipur was set up in Chattisgarh in the year 2010 by the Human Development and Research Ministry of India. It was inaugurated by Raman Singh, then Chief Minister in 2011. It has only been 8 years since the college has started, and yet the structure has evolved so much. There are already 9 student-driven committees and 13 student-driven clubs at IIM Raipur. Last year, another club was made for us to bring some colour in lives- Rang, the cultural club. There is even a sports club that has shown outstanding performance in different competitions. The pixel club helps us all with the brilliant photographs they take and other digital art that is really needed in these times. The quizzing club organizes quiz so that we increase our knowledge every day, and the Provakta club makes sure we speak with confidence and clarity. For people who love to help others, there is Kartavya, and for people who are interested in the environment, we have Prakriti. These were the non-academic clubs, we have clubs for people who love to learn even outside of classes, mantra, the marketing has won many competitions, Finatics, the finance club has its own perks. Hridhaan, Anasys and Operations Club help us with HR, analytics and Operations respectively. There is also a Consulting and Entrepreneurship Club for people who want to be the writers of their own life. Well, almost all the colleges will be having these clubs, but what unique here are the efforts that are put by the students to make even one event successful, the passion that the students have to make this place memorable and the confidence and ease with which they organize.
At IIM Raipur, I don't feel that I am far from home. The seniors especially the Admission Committee have ensured that this place feels like home. The culture that has been inculcated in the campus by all our seniors is really something to be proud of, the unity students hold in each batch is remarkable.
In the last 8 years, what we have managed to do is beyond explanation, the annual fest, Equinox, which is held by us, is known by every other college in the city, and students there wait for it for the whole year. We organized all kinds of events, from dance to drama, from music to painting, from academic things to entrepreneurial activities, we had it all.
Our college might be a new IIM, but it has achieved great heights, and it will continue to do so because of the brilliant and enthusiastic culture that is set by our seniors, and the legacy we will try to follow.
Which ABG Company you would like to work for?
I would like to work with Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited, as it is the number 1 Fashion Lifestyle Company of India. As I am really enthusiastic about art, crafts, and fashion, I think this industry will be a suitable choice for me. With operations as my major and marketing as my minor, I would be able to understand the ever-changing wants and needs of the Indian community and hence, will be able to provide the best experience to the targeted audience.
