Indian Institute of Management Udaipur is situated in Udaipur, the capital city of formerly princely states of Mewar. The campus is surrounded by the hills of Aravalli range which looks like no less than a hill station. It comprises mainly of the Academic block, Hostel area, and the Faculty residential area.
The campus is biggest among all the present IIMs covering around 253 acres of land area, which also includes a number of proposed lakes. IIM Udaipur is the first one to shift to its new campus, and it gives an immense sense of ownership where we are watching our campus progress day by day. As, per our requirements, the administration is adding amenities from the day we shifted on Balicha campus starting from the gymnasium, sports room, and music room to small things such as TV Room and discussion rooms.
The Hostel rooms are air-conditioned and equipped with all the equipment such as refrigerators, induction panels and microwave ovens to fulfill the needs of the students so that they can fully concentrate on academics as well as other extra-curricular activities. The view from the hostel area is excellent especially in rainy season when its greenery all around. The charming views can be seen every morning at the time of the sunrise and also in the evening. In the rainy season, the hills are covered with clouds, just the same as any other hill station. Even when the weather becomes foggy in winters and being on top of a hill makes the experience
better of being on the campus of IIM Udaipur.
There is a place on campus known as back-side road which is the best place to be when you are in search of serenity. Also if you are an astrophile and want to relax, this is the best place you want to be. I experienced Geminid Meteor shower last year in the month of December when we waited for the meteor shower to start until midnight and experienced this once in a lifetime
event till 3 am in a windy chilly night.
The best part about our campus is that it never sleeps, anytime at night students can be seen in mess area or canteen or study rooms working on their submission or assignments or preparing for an upcoming event.
Balicha campus is the place for a world-class institution to be as it enables students to get knowledge from the best faculty members from India along with resort-like residential facilities.
Which ABG company I would like to work for and why?
As I have a technical background in the field of Electronics and Communications engineering, I think the best place for me to work will be Idea cellular limited where I will be able to work with my full capabilities and maximum efficiency.
