Name an instance where you wanted something and went out of your comfort zone to achieve it OR Tell us the biggest risk you have taken so far in your life.
During my Internship at Simwell, I was working on anyLogistix Software, which is supply chain optimization and simulation software. I am supposed to work on that as per my project requirement. I was working in the USA team. Once in our support call, another team needed to prepare the dashboard in Power BI. They all were using Tableau, and their client wanted visualization in Power BI. At that time, I had no experience with any visualization tool. But I took it as an opportunity and got involved in that project. I learned the power BI in 14 days and prepared the dashboard as needed. Also, I did certification for Power BI from then. Whenever someone needed help with power BI, I was the place to get it done. I went out of my comfort zone and achieved the best experience
When was the last time someone relied on you? OR What did you do which was purely for someone else - a truly selfless act?
In the last module, we had a subject in simulation modeling using anyLogistix software, which was taught about six months ago. So most of the students were not friendly with that software. I learned the anyLogistix software during my summer internship and worked on a project. So that time, some students requested me to teach them so that they could get good grades. At that time, I thought most students were worried, so I should teach all of them. Then I created a group and held an online session for all students and cleared all the doubts of students. All the students got excellent grades in that subject, and apart from the exam, most of them used that software in many projects.
Tell us about a time when you disagreed with an opinion/idea/decision. What did you do about it?
During my Internship, I worked on warehouse operations. Previously, the warehouse had one entry and one exit gate for the flow of goods (Biscuits), but the exit gate was closed for some reason. Initially inventory model was FIFO, but due to the closure of the exit gate, it automatically turned to LIFO. So my manager wants to adapt the LIFO. That time I disagreed with my manager. As the new model would take longer time and need training for workers, I said we could spend on opening the exit door, which will be easy and cost-effective in the long run. After I explained the cost benefits, my manager agreed with my decision, and he appreciated my opinion
What is the one thing you can claim to have some level of expertise or depth of knowledge in - it could be anything - a subject, a sport, a hobby, a venture, an initiative that has led you to do deep work in that field?
Regarding expertise, things that came to my mind are supply chain analytics and management. I have a micromaster in supply chain management from Massachusetts Institute of Technology, equivalent to one semester at MIT USA. I am known for my expertise in the supply chain at my college. Whenever someone has doubts, I am where they most of the time they clear their concept or doubts.I have done certificate from ISCEA as a Certified Supply Chain Analyst. And anyLogistix software (supply chain optimization and simulation) training from The AnyLogic Company. I am always enthusiastic about learning and solving supply chain optimization and simulation problems using various tools that I know, like any logicanyLogistix, database, SQL, Python Programming, Machine Learning, and many more. Some word of mouth:"I can see the future you will deep dive in ..." by a professor and fellow student" The person who inspires me always ..." "Supply Chain Guru,"These all motivate me more and more. I am just like an artist who is got at art known as Supply chain optimization and simulation
If 10 Million Dollars (approximately INR 75 Crores) is given to you to use it any way you deem fit what would you do with this corpus?
I will split the amount for my present and future. For the present, I will spend some dollars on a lifestyle like a lovely house and a good car in a good place which will cost around 3M Dollars. Will invest 4M Dollars in good shares, which will keep or increase value over time. 1M in Lumpsum SIP. This will yield around 0.5M a year. For emergencies would like to keep 1M in saving accounts in different banks. I want to contribute to the social cause, like establishing the Jahagirdar Foundation for education and consulting for the poor's but the sharp-minded students. For that, I would like to keep 0.5M. And most important would like to solve the very severe problem in nearby society, which is lagging due to financial initiatives.
