The dream of getting into an IIM was seen during my undergraduate studies. I was interested in management and entrepreneurship from the second year of college. I started my first company in 2nd year itself which did a business of 5 lacs in a duration of 13 months, and my next company was awarded as the 2nd best startup of Asia award by TiE Delhi. After finishing my graduation, I wanted to work for a corporate organisation in an IT industry as a product manager.
Getting into an IIM and having a formal education in Management was a dream to be pursued.
IIM Kashipur is known for its rigour in academic excellence. Infrastructure-wise, it offers a world-class academic and accommodation facilities for students. In fact, it was the first new IIM to move into its permanent campus.
I had one of my seniors who had just graduated from IIM Kashipur. His understanding and perspective gave me an insight about the college and student activities.
Location wise, Kashipur is a semi-urban area with a rapid development and expansion plan. It is located in nature’s heart, with the clean and green environment. I always wanted to spend time in an area which is not a metro so that I could understand the rural scenario and systems of our country.
Considering all the factors, I preferred to choose IIM Kashipur.
Which ABG company would one want to work for and why?
The Aditya Birla Group company one would want to work for is ‘ABOF’ as a product manager. ABOF is successful in making back to the industry after a shutdown.
A product role in ABOF would give me an exponential learning curve in terms of customer behaviour and usage pattern. This couldn’t have come at a better time as most of the online retailers are showing interest towards private labels and also a private label would give much greater control over the prices and margins to the company. So, it can, without a doubt, be said that ABOF is going to reap huge profits in the near future.
