I come from an engineering background and got my Bachelors of Engineering from Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. I also got a decent job as a sales engineer in Bengaluru. I am from Kerala as well. So one would wonder why a South Indian like me, who has very little exposure to the North Indians go to Udaipur, to pursue one the toughest and most challenging degrees, the MBA.

One of my biggest dreams was to see the world, meet all kinds of people, learn their living styles, their cultures and so on. IIM Udaipur has students literally from all parts of our country, which is amazing from my point of you. IIM Udaipur has an incredible campus, an entire mountain to be precise, with over 250 acres of land. The view of our campus at night is extraordinary, a view that cannot be forgotten once seen.

From the educational forums, I learned that IIM Udaipur puts a lot of emphasis on Academic Excellence, which was my basic objective for an MBA, To Learn. Most of the other Business schools focus on placements and corporate activities, but our college decided to pin point on excellence over success. The brain child of this notion was of course from our very own director, Prof. Janet Shah. The PGP2 students play an integral part in running the campus, along with the staff and non-staff members, giving the impression that IIMU is open for new ideas every time.

The Alumni of our campus are nothing short of benevolent. They were open to every question, they shared about their lives in the campus and also life after campus. The campus has also invested a lot in Research and Development activities to improve the academics and business management studies in the long run. IIMU also provides a Student Exchange Program involving 7 institutes across the globe.

There are also so many clubs and committees ( as much as 35) from the core committees like Finomina ( for Finance) , MarClan ( for Marketing ) etc.. to the fun ones like Potpourri, Lakesiders, FootWorkx and so on. We appreciate every festival in India so that no one left alone, which is one of IIMU’s greatest strengths.

Finally I would like to conclude that IIMU is not just any other institute in India or in the world, and there is a good reason for that. Our ideals, our vision and our core values are the ones everyone would respect, which would easily make our campus unique.

Which ABG company would I want to work for and why?

If given the opportunity, I would like to work in the retail sector of the Aditya Birla Group. This is of course I have experience working in a retail sector, and have enjoyed working there. I would like to continue my line of work there and personally know the difference between the quality of works and how to never compromise on quality. With great things happening in the retail sector and the e-commerce, I would like to take part in this action as well. The competition maybe high in this sector, but that’s what would make this sector all the more exciting.
