The day I landed at XIMB, I was triggered to push my limits. It was the 20th of June, 8.30 in the evening when I stepped inside the hostel. I was totally unaware of the batch meet that was scheduled at 9.30pm as I was not into a habit of checking emails. I faced the consequences of being late by thirty seconds as it violated the rules of the student executive council. Here starts my journey with the most beautiful experience of arriving late to the first session. As expected nervousness drilled inside me and I just wanted to let it go.
The next day, my morning started with checking emails and to my surprise, we had to present a PPT with regards to a case study by EOD and on the same day at 1.30 am we also had a GD round. This was to make us adapt to the upcoming life at XIMB and beyond into the corporate world. We all hustled to connect with our group members for the progress of the same. The immediate feedback and interaction with a bunch of talented seniors swayed us into the positivism of doing more and better.
XIMB has a pool of many eminent professors. We are ranked as having one of the most rigorous curriculum among B-Schools in India encompassing the trimester system and the inter-batch relative grading system. In the first week itself we had our intra-college sports competition “X-SPORTS”, following which was the cultural event “X-CAPADE”. After that, the various committees launched themselves by conducting quizzes for the enthusiasts and it was all in the same initial week. We then had our Placecom meet and leadership talk which enhanced my exposure to interact with senior corporate leaders. Every new student, by now, had tuned to the clinging of XIMB life.
The campus lying at the heart of Bhubaneswar has an energetic life hidden inside it. This is the exposure that I received, just during the initial days and I’m pretty sure that a lot more awaits for me in the next two years. Hence it’s accurately stated by all alums associated with the college legacy that “If you survive at XIMB, you can nail anything”.
Which ABG Company I Would Prefer to Work For and Why?
I would like to join Hindalco Industries Ltd as I have already interned at their Plant based at Hirakud, Odisha and learnt about the unique processes that is opted for manufacturing aluminium. I am more inclined to work in their marketing domain as it aligns with my career objective and can provide me with enough exposure and knowledge. Having been mesmerized by their culture, I always remained keen to be a part of the Hindalco family.
