IIM Indore is one of the premier Business Schools in India and is counted amongst the top most institutes in the country. It is renowned for its brilliant academic courses, the infrastructure and the overall experience it provides. But what sets it apart from all the other big b-schools? I think there is a plethora of things that sets my campus to stand out amongst its other counterparts and I really mean it when I say it stands out - it is a Castle on the Hill.
Planet-I as we fondly address it, has been a home to me for the past two years and the life lessons, teachings and memories it has given me in my time here has have been the most amazing part of my life. We all enter the campus with some hopes and expectations, keeping into mind the stature and respect that an IIM holds with it and this campus has not disappointed us in any way.
The thing which makes my campus unique are- Location: the campus is located on a hill and the terrain completely justifies the experiences that we go through here, sometimes the happy highs and the others are sad lows but all in all it is a joy ride. Events: there are a variety of events happening all around the year with sometimes, no time to stop and breath. The diversity of events is what sets IIM Indore apart. There are four fests and all with different agendas- there’s a management fest, cultural one, entrepreneurship fest and a rural marketing fest which give us a holistic perspective of all the subjects that we undertake here and the experiences we have in life. Sports: the sports activities, facilities and infrastructure are one of the best offerings of the campus. There are unique events such as premier leagues, intersection and inter-college tournaments taking place all around the year. Student-run ventures: the campus offers and supports entrepreneurship and believes in promoting student-run ventures. There are food ventures and laundry services which have been fully supported by the college authorities and student body. HOP and RIP: the college believes in giving us hands-on, practical experience of all that we are going to face outside the confines of this campus and programs like Himalayan Outbound Program and Rural Immersion Program give us a chance to challenge ourselves and interact with elements outside our control so that we learn to get a better hold on them.
All in all, this campus offers so many experiences and memories that I will carry with me for all my life.
Which ABG company would you want to work for and why?
The company I would like to work for is Aditya Birla Fashion & Retail because the apparel industry is an emerging and a dynamic industry where the trends keep changing every day and it will be a challenge to be able to keep up with this continuously changing environment. ABFRL has always been on its toes to innovate and be up to date with these evolving fashion trends since its inception and continues to do so with not a lot of effort. Brands like Van Heusen, Peter England, Allen Solly are all testimony to this. It shows that the company is constantly scanning the landscape, actively hunting for new opportunities and leaves no stone unturned to effectively utilize any opportunity that comes knocking on its door. With all the opportunities of growth, I think ABFRL is the best place to work.
