IIM Sirmaur is one of the 3rd Generation IIMs that started its functioning from 2015. It is still in its infancy stage and is mentored by IIM Lucknow. At present, it is operating under the very able leadership of its director Prof. (Dr.) Neelu Rohmetra.
IIM Sirmaur is yet to receive its permanent campus. Meanwhile, it is located in Paonta Sahib. River Yamuna flows just beside the campus, that and the lush green environment along with serene mountains make it a beautiful place to live and learn in. Sirmaur being an industrial hub provides a significant strategic advantage.
The fact that IIM Sirmaur is still in its initial stages hasn’t hampered its chances of placing its students in top companies. It is right there alongside the other top institutes of the country as far as the placement figures are concerned.
IIM Sirmaur has frequent guest lectures by visiting faculties from various top B-schools of the country. The learning opportunities you get in IIM Sirmaur are almost equivalent to that of any other IIMs. Being part of the initial batches has its own perks. Students get freedom and unique opportunities, opportunities to be a trendsetter, to be the founders of something very special.
Now let us come to some ‘tangible things’. IIM Sirmaur provides its students with the opportunity for International exposure with its program ‘International Immersion Program’. This year, students went to SDA Bocconi as part of their IIP.
Apart from this, the campus has a hostel with great facilities. A built-in mess, a well-equipped gym, a library and facilities necessary for sports like Table Tennis, Pool for recreational purposes.
Being one of the baby IIMs, it is understandable if people on the outside are sceptical about the institute. But after being on the inside and a part of this institute, I am convinced that I am a part of something very special and unique. And the upward trend and the growth shown by IIM Sirmaur is all set to continue and if there is something that I am absolutely convinced of, it is that this is going to be one hell of a ride!

I am an Electronics and Communication Engineer and using my knowledge of EC domain along with the skills I am in the process of obtaining in my MBA course, I think I can be a valuable asset to the company and maintain a symbiotic relationship which will result in both company’s and my own growth.
