The campus of IIM Indore, also called as Planet-I, located at the outskirts of Indore has many things which stand out when compared to other b-school campuses. Not only the atmosphere of the campus but also the various outdoor academic activities along with the huge portfolio of various courses offered make it unique. The most unique courses offered include the Himalayan Outbound Program and the Rural Immersion Programme.
In the Himalayan Outbound Program (HOP), students experience various activities like trekking, rafting and many adventurous activities. These activities help students in learning team building and leadership skills.
In the Rural Immersion Programme, various student groups are sent to different remote rural locations of the state of Madhya Pradesh in order to verify whether the objectives of Swachh Bharat Mission are being met or not. This programme includes constant interaction with the government officials and the village locals which prove useful in various learnings.
Festivals carry an important place in the campus life. All the festivals, national as well as regional, right from Durga Pooja, Ganesh Chaturthi, Onam, Dandiya are celebrated in the campus with great enthusiasm and participation from all. Occasional DJ nights also happen in the campus which play the role of stress-busters in the life of students.
Various student-run food ventures, like JAM and Pi- shop, are present in the campus, giving students a lot more options as a substitute for the regular mess food. These are run religiously by the students so the quality of the food is also maintained.
The state of the art sports facilities present in the campus is also a point of attraction. The gym facilities, Olympic size swimming pool, badminton courts in the hostels, TT tables and a spectacular cricket stadium allow students to mix work with play.
The college fests are termed as central India’s biggest fests. These fests include IRIS, Utsaha, Udaan, Atharva, I5 summit, Ranbhoomi. These fests witness a huge number of participants from not only the college participants of various colleges but various industry dignitaries.
The institute has many clubs and committees, which function to conduct all the student activities right from publishing articles, conducting various quizzes, looking at the infrastructure of the institute. A lot of pre-processes are conducted in order to be a member of these clubs or committees.
All these facilities stand out to make the IIM Indore campus unique, right from infrastructure to various academic programmes.
Which ABG company would you want to work for and why?
There are many group companies under ABG. Almost every one of them is one of the top contenders in that particular segment. But the group company that I feel working in Aditya Birla Idea Payments Bank Limited. The reason being I am fascinated with the level of growth this particular segment has witnessed. The level of dependency people has on the payments banks. If properly positioned, it can act as a cash cow for the entire firm. There are some challenges in this segment, still a lot can be done to improve the customer experience with a bit of differentiation.
