The first thing that comes to my mind when I look at the Aditya Birla Group logo are the iconic brands: Van Heusen, Vodafone Idea. I will briefly talk about my interesting experiences with the brands.
Van Heusen -
For me, Van Heusen stands for class. It all started when I was out of school, and out of uniforms. Coming from a traditional Indian family, I was expected to attend wedding ceremonies of my close relatives and help out in the proceedings regularly. One particular wedding experience makes me remember Van Heusen distinctly.
I had just cleared IIT JEE, and had secured a seat in one of the coveted engineering institutes. Until that point, I was an unknown in my family. I was given mundane chores at home and wedding ceremonies, and nobody was really particular about how I was dressed up.
But since I cleared JEE, I had gained a status in my family circles. The day before that particular ceremony, my father took me to big bazaar and he started browsing the “Premium Brands” section. I remember my dad telling me : “This is Van Heusen, one of the brands which you will be wearing at ceremonies from now on. Go and pick your shirt”. I picked a classy black colored shirt with smooth texture. I looked at the price tag of 2000 INR, and was genuinely confused and yet a sense of pride filled inside me which I cannot really describe! Van Heusen has etched into my heart.
A Van Heusen shirt is my top pick for almost any occasion – be it for a ceremony, an interview or important meetings. Needless to say, I was wearing a Van Heusen shirt when I cleared the interview for securing a seat at MDI, Gurgaon. See the picture below with one of my Van Heusen classics.

Vodafone Idea -
I have been a Vodafone user since 2015 when I joined ZS Associates. I had subscribed to a corporate package which offered great value adding benefits such as free calls to colleagues, unlimited data. Since then I never had a thought about switching to a different network. Vodafone’s quality is high, coverage is fairly good and offers excellent packages. There were instances where I had to call to my friends and colleagues from top of a hill trek (Nandi Hills), and the signal quality was excellent.
I have great hopes for Vodafone after its’ merger with Idea. I strongly believe the merger will come up with more innovative ideas and retain the market share it deserves to capture. An idea can change your life!

The moments that shaped my career -
I was working on a project with an Indian Textiles client where we needed to forecast their brand sales for the next 3 years and build a complicated supply model in order to improve the clients' supply chain.
It was a high intensity project, a few senior resources had left the team and the clients were expecting a quality output and insights impatiently. Due to the unusual situation, I got the opportunity to drive the complete project right from planning, ideation to conceptualization, and project delivery. I knew this was my only chance to make a difference to my career.
I delivered with aplomb, and we delivered great value to our clients. I was awarded “Above and Beyond” award for going beyond my role as a Senior Analyst in the face of this challenging situation.
I hope to continue to grow, learn from my peers, professors and develop into a world class leader ready to make an impact in any organization.
