NMIMS MBA Interview Experiences 2025- 1

31/01/2025 - 8 am

Registration and attendance were completed at 8:40 am

Competency test from 9 am. The test was easier than Nmat. Doable questions in the time frame provided

AI interview - 12-minute timer

Around 6 -7, questions were asked by the AI system all revolving around my work-ex and keywords mentioned in the SOP,  how a regular work day looks like, a petrochemical sector in and out, how to incorporate sustainable business practices in my sector,  how supply chain will be disrupted in the case of severe geopolitical events. 

How global shifts will affect the Indian economy?

AI-assisted Interview

Q.1) Mention one challenge academic or personal, you have faced and how did you adapt to it.

Ans- No familiar friends in college, challenged initially but worked to develop networking skills through participation.

Q.2) If you are a team lead and one member is consistently missing deadlines, how would you approach the situation?

Ans- My style of team management is an open platform for communication and collaboration. Will approach the person to understand their concerns and reason for the issue. Work to address the problem. Gave eg from a school competition where I faced the same issue and how I addressed it.

Q.3) Current affairs- What do you know about the semiconductor industry and supply shortage? How would it affect Maruti Suzuki?

Ans- China is a big contributor and the geo-political trade issues it is facing with the USA may cause further issues. (By the End of this sentence realized I was mixing up the chip used in AI architecture with a conductor)

Switched to how it will impact the supply of parts for key automobile manufacturers like Maruti Suzuki

Q.4) Inflation scenario in India and compared to global inflation.

Ans- Defined inflation (because needed time to form the answer) then mentioned in the upcoming FY RBI is planning to focus on boosting liquidity to address rising inflation and compared to the global inflation and recession that India is putting in efforts to stabilize so a plus point there.

Q.5) Mention your fav subject in BMS and why.

Ans- Directly steered to advertising and branding and how we used to decode and analyze brand and ad campaigns.

Q.1) Asked if I am a Fresher.

Ans- Mentioned yet to graduate in June.

Q.2) How would I add value to the cohort as a fresher? 

Ans- Updated and fresh with the domain knowledge, fresh perspective, personally very enthusiastic to learn and contribute to classes, Participation in extracurriculars. Would like to keep working on analyzing campaigns and adding value in classes.

Q.3) 3 challenges in the marketing industry.

Ans-  i. Integration of AI and problem of copyright and all for content creators in the digital marketing space.

Shifting to digital marketing for traditionally operated businesses specifically due to the digital boom after COVID-19.

(Third- my brain went blank, I said- ma'am can think of these two- she was sweet and said it's okay)

Q.4) Fav ad campaign 

Ans- Cadbury ad

Q.5) A Bad Campaign 

Ans- Mentioned a Mercedes ka ad. A boy kissed a girl in the ad without her permission. So how this was an imposition and did not value women's rights which is being promoted by so many companies.

She seemed surprised. Mentioned how Mercedes is generally in the good books for everyone. Even I am surprised how they have put up such a campaign. And such a big company is promoting an ad that you do not stand by, I find that interesting.

Explained how this was a discussion in our classroom and the classroom was itself divided. Some felt it focussed on the expression of adventure and boldness that Mercedes stands for but some of us that in the modern era where we stand for equal rights, all this was not expected.
