My Management College: NITIE (National Institute of Industrial Engineering), Mumbai.

Dear fellow Engineers,

How are your preparations going on for CAT’18 and GATE’19?

Hopefully, you’re doing a good job, and this will surely reflect in your results.

My letter is intended for all those engineers who seek the chance of enhancing their career after an MBA course. Apart from preparations a bit of your time should also be devoted towards finding the right college to make your dream career.

Usually, engineers restrict themselves to IIMs only. My letter is basically an information pamphlet about a hidden treasure in the heart of Financial capital Mumbai, NITIE. My college was established way back in 1963, which implies our alum base is as deep as Marina Trench. Our college is famous in the industry as “Mecca of Supply Chain”. The rankings that are presented in different forums supports my claim.

According to NIRF, National Institutional Ranking Framework by Ministry of Human Resource Development (Government of India) states clearly that we are ranked 14th all over the country. We are ahead of many IIMs and the more advertised colleges in India.

Here’s the link for top management institutes in India.

I would request my fellow engineers to go through the various posts on InsideIIM and find out more about NITIE.

“IIM officials say they do not want the CAT pattern to be biased towards engineering students as there is a need for academic diversity in India’s top B-schools.” - An excerpt from a leading daily newspaper.

I’m not quoting the above statement just to scare you from your ambition, but my intention is to tell you about a general trend happening over the past few years. You will be amazed to know the only pre-requisite to be in NITIE is to be an Engineer. Of course, you’ll have to appear for CAT’18 and GATE’19.

Yes, my dear friends, you read it right GATE’19. NITIE considers you eligible for admissions if you can crack any of the exams. The twist in the tale comes regarding the different courses offered in NITIE.  The following programs are offered at NITIE:

  1. Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Engineering (PGDIE)
  2. Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Management (PGDIM)
  3. Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Safety and Environmental Management (PGDISEM)
  4. Post Graduate Diploma in Manufacturing Management(PGDMM)
  5. Post Graduate Diploma in Project Management(PGDPM)
  6. Fellow Programme

For the admission process :

For PGDIM - CAT

For PGDISEM - CAT

For PGDMM - GATE

For PGDPM – GATE

For PGDIE - GATE

The placement offers are unbelievable but true. I will not provide a link regarding the same but I’ll request you to search for the same.

22% of Engineers (2017) with an experience of more than 36 months are present in our college.

NITIE checks all the checkboxes for an engineer.

I would end my letter with a hope that you’ll reach to me on various platforms, you’ll like and comment on my post. I sign off this letter with a hope that you’ll reach out to me.

A proud NITIZEN.
