Where do I begin with? The hill top location, the beautiful campus or the amazing people at Planet-I?

It all started exactly a year back when I was told I had converted the only IIM shortlist I had. I thought that was a dream come true. But there was more to come. The magic began when I stepped onto the campus.

Away from all the clamour and commotion that the city has to offer, IIMI is set on top of a hill. With classes starting at 9 am every morning, it is literally a race to the top of the hill where the academic block is located. The diverse set of 500+ students (the largest among all IIMs) has ensured that peer learning is engaging and fun. From student-run food ventures to an on-campus retail store, management is not just limited to textbooks and cases here. The gymnasium, swimming pool and the weekly dose of movies at campus make sure there is never a dull day on campus.

IIMI sticks to its motto of making socially relevant managers. The institute offers a rural immersion program for students wherein we get to explore the real Bharat and identify opportunities for improvement of welfare schemes initiated by the government.

If this were not fun enough, at the Himalayan Outbound Program initiated by the institute, students an opportunity to perform in an unfamiliar territory (in the lap of the Himalayas). With a number of activities ranging from firewood collection to setting up the tent, the program aims to sensitize us towards being more aware of our natural surroundings while discovering our own selves in the process.

From working in the rural heartland of Madhya Pradesh to trekking on the mountains of Uttarakhand, Planet I makes sure students are receptive to the changing environment (symbolized by the fourth segment of the logo).

Which ABG company do you want to work for and why?

I would like to work for Aditya Birla Fashion Retail. Be it the Power Green dressing by Van Heusen or the Friday Dressing by Allen Solly, ABFRL has been hitting the right notes in the apparel industry. I would like to be a part of this fashion house and feel working at ABFRL would provide me with the right opportunity to learn and hone my managerial skills.
