People across the nation know that the Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi is not really known for its grand infrastructure. But, not many know that it is essentially this fact that makes our campus unique.

Our red building of dreams is home to brilliant young minds and scholarly teachers - all of whom carry on their day to day activities under one big roof. Because of this, we inevitably bump into each other. Between classes, during lunch breaks; on the staircase or near the water coolers – you’re always bound to run into someone. This breeds familiarity and kindles affection. We consider ourselves one big family. And Oh! The discussions that happen in these places . . . Our seniors are so welcoming and lend an ear to any problem that we might have or a hand to any help that we might need. Our teachers, with an ever-present smile on their faces, solve our doubts with the utmost patience and give us ‘gyaan’ that is priceless.

These campus bricks are the very backbone of our culture.

A memorable classroom experience in my B-school

Having only spent a few days attending classes, my most memorable classroom experience till now has to be attending Pr. Venkatraman’s class. He teaches Human Resource Management and the sheer depth that he took us to in that very first class was beyond impressive.

It’s mind-boggling the perspective that great professors bring to the table, angles that you’ve never even considered. I’d come to campus with this set notion that HRM is not going to be that interesting a subject, but Venkatraman sir changed my mind.

Introducing some of my crazy batch-mates

I have to disclaim that every single person in my batch, including myself, is crazy. The following people are probably the ones who just got noticed more for their talents:

Ritu Tomar – for dancing like there’s no tomorrow and being amazing at it

Debangana Chakraborty – for literally getting into the skin of a character when she acts and nailing every performance

Shanky Garg – for being so good at mimicry and pulling off mimicking the seniors in front of them

Which ABG company would you like to work for and why?

I’d like to work for UltraTech Cement. Not only is it India’s largest exporter of cement and manufacturer but also a global leader and an industry pioneer in Cement production. After having done a project in my under-graduation on strength enhancement of cement, I’ve developed an inclination towards the production of cement and believe that there exists a lot of potential in this area. I have also read that values are given utmost importance at UltraTech and the values that are subscribed to are "integrity, commitment, passion, seamlessness and speed". It would most definitely be a privilege to work in such a set-up.
