FMS is known as the red building of dreams for a reason. It is only B School in India as well as in the world to provide a world-class MBA degree at a great ROI. And the main highlight is that it is only the top B School in the country that is having a university system. The Delhi University affiliation elevates FMS overall its local competition and puts it in the global space, competing for head to head with Harvard, Kellogg and other international B Schools. Being the oldest B School in the country, established in 1954, FMS has a strong alumni base. The alumni network empowers young entrepreneurs to pitch in their Startup concepts and can get the required support. Also, the alumni stay connected with the college and help appraise the newer batch with the current industry practices and their very own industry experience. The rigour and the experimental learning sets FMS apart is the only top business school in the country.
A memorable classroom experience in my B-School
It’s been almost 30 days since I have joined FMS and each day has been a new and memorable experience in itself. To zero in on one such experience, the startup session has been one of the memorable classroom experiences. In that session, we were given time for idea formulation, followed by a detailed presentation report showing our startup ideas in a broader and professional manner. I was delighted to have got this opportunity since I have been thinking of a startup concept right from my under graduation. I wrote this in a structured manner, explaining all the key aspects of my concept. The ideas were scrutinized by the E cell team and my idea got approved to go for the next round. I teamed up with few of my batch mates and started making a comprehensive presentation covering my complete plan as to how I would market my product, how I would manage my finances and finally how I am going to sustain my business. Brainstorming with m group mates gave me deep insight about the scope my startup idea carries and the potential impact it could make. Followed by a presentation, the session ended and I felt like it was the most fulfilling day ever and this I feel is one of the memorable classroom experiences in FMS.
Some of my crazy classmates:
- Dheeraj Shekhar
He is the most unique production engineer I have come across. He has a master’s degree and a year’s work experience as a senior lab assistant in Loyala College, Hyderabad. Dheeraj has a keen observer and has the talent to remember the movement and activities of the people whom he interacts with. He has a great memory power, compassionate about others and has a weird sense of humour. I believe that he can put his talent to use and be a good HR. I hope he realizes what his capable of and chooses the right path that will catapult his career.
- Sandeep Khanna
There is someone who is good at studies, someone who is good at acting, someone who is good at communicating and someone who is good at sports. But I have never come across a person who is good at something in each of these talents. He is Sandeep Khanna, Tamil guy from Chennai, who did his civil engineering from Sastra University. He is a CFA level-I. He is a creative chap who has a unique way of going about things. Everytime you interact with him, you are bummed with some new aspect of his personality. He is a true inspiration and I wish good luck in his future endeavours.
- Ravi Shankar
Many people in this world have some purpose in life for which he or she works towards passionately. Ravi is someone who would work passionately for something he is not clear about. He hails from Hyderabad and did his bachelors from JNTU Hyderabad. He is a cricketer, a story writer, a short film director and a great actor. He has watched every Tamil and Telugu film and is a big Rajnikanth fan. He is someone who stays determined in any situation and stays as humble as possible. I wish that he gets whatever he aspires for in Life.
- Avinash
Avinash is a mechanical engineer from Osmania University. Post that he has a three years work experience in TCS. He is like an elder brother to me, who is always open to experimenting. He likes meeting new people and has a different way of looking at things. He has a great sense of wit and humour and remains enthusiastic throughout the day.
ABG company I want to work for
I would like to work with IDEA. The recent merger between IDEA and VODAFONE is slated to become the number one telecom company in India, surpassing the market leader Airtel. I have been a customer of Idea for the past many years and I really like the quality of service that they provide. They have a user-centric approach wherein the requirements and expectations of each of its customers are met. I would like to associate with a brand that syncs with the ideology that I believe in. I will work towards my personal development and the growth of the company and as an engineer and a management student I see great scope for my personal growth in working with IDEA.
