The energy and vigour at Planet-I makes it a unique place to learn, grow and develop as effective managers, ready for the industry. The campus, located on a beautiful hilly terrain provides a refreshing delight against the fast paced life full of assignments, submissions, quizzes and evaluations in the academic block.

In my opinion, what is truly unique to my campus is the Rural Immersion Program that happens in the second trimester of PGP. Students are sent in random groups to remote villages of Madhya Pradesh on a project designated in association with the Madhya Pradesh government. It is for that period of one week, when you are cut off from the activities of modern life that you realise the hardships that people in the remotest of areas have to face. This program teaches you, to not only experience this life first-hand but also gives you a sense of adjustment in different situations and teaches you how to be more prepared for any and every adverse situation that you may have to fight in your career as a manager going forward.

This year, the program was spread across more than 50 districts, and around 600 students from the PGP, Integrated program and Mumbai campus were a part of this unique program. The surveys and interviews conducted across villages, helped us gain deeper insights into the problems of the rural folks, who did not have access to proper water supply that resulted in greater defecation rates in their own villages.

Gaining insights into such socially sensitive issues, helped me reconnect to my rural roots and provided me a platform to drive change at my own level. Such initiatives that the campus keeps taking, helps us realize our true potential and contributes effectively to our journeys of becoming effective managers.

Which ABG company would you like to work for?

The ABG Company that I’d like to work for would be Aditya Birla Payments Bank. With the idea of providing banking services to the underbanked and the unbanked, Payments bank has a huge potential to dig down to the deepest of sectors and provide them with financial services that aid their daily needs. With over 2 million touch points of retailers of Vodafone and Idea, that ABG can leverage, the distribution problem can be tackled and financial services be tailored for the customer in the remotest area. Being a company that operates in the booming Fin-tech space and being relatively entrepreneurial in its functioning owing to its recent launch in April, there is huge potential for career growth and learning in ABPB.
