S.P. Jain Institute of Management & Research (SPJIMR) has released the latest selection criteria for admissions into the flagship PGDM programme in 2020. Candidates can apply to SPJIMR through their CAT, XAT, or GMAT scores. The institute continues to give great importance to a candidate's academic record and work experience. Here's how the latest SPJIMR selection criteria for 2020 affect your chances of getting shortlisted by the institute.
The following are the five major takeaways from IIM Bangalore's latest selection criteria post-CAT 2019:
- IIM Bangalore has reduced the overall as well as sectional minimum CAT percentile to be eligible for a WAT-PI shortlist call from the institute.
- In 2019, IIM Bangalore has assigned 40% weight to CAT 2019 scores, and 50% weight to candidates' academic profiles while computing the composite score (CS) for WAT-PI shortlist. Check the entire selection criteria here.
The IIM Lucknow selection criteria for 2019 come as good news for those with a below-average SSC (Class 10th) percentage, as the institute continues to exclude 10th marks as a selection criterion. In 2019, IIM L has given 60% weight to CAT 2019 scores and 20% weight to a candidate's academic profile. IIM Kozhikode selection criteria for their PGP batch of 2020-22 is now live. Remarkably, IIM K seems to be giving less importance to CAT exam scores for the written test / personal interview rounds, with weightage decreasing from 75% to 45% from the previous year. IIM Calcutta, one of the few IIMs that excluded graduation scores as a selection criterion, will now include candidates' Bachelor's degree marks to compute a composite score that will be used to shortlist candidates for the WAT-PI round. Graduation scores have been assigned a weight of 15%. But here's the good news - if your graduation score is ≥ 60%, you receive full marks (15/15), while if your graduation score is ≥ 55%, you receive 10 marks. For Round 1 of shortlisting by IIM Ahmedabad based on academic excellence, the formula for calculation has changed since 2018. In 2018, the CAT score accounted for 70% of the composite score. In 2019, the CAT score accounts for 65% of the composite score, while the Application Rating Score accounts for 35% of the composite score.
