It is rightly said that ‘Individually we are one drop, but together we are an ocean”. Every person comes from a different background and has different skill sets and strengths. On Day One, it is not enough to know your batch mates just by names and general introduction. Team Activity gives us an opportunity to have deeper and better insights into our teammate. Once we start working in a team, we do understand each other’s strengths, weaknesses, and interests.
Our Team Buiding Activity was to select a Business Leader, state three qualities of our leader which we as MBA students would aspire to achieve and to build the tallest model depicting the business leader. In the end, we had to give a small presentation based on the building model. My team consisted of members from different educational background and job profiles. Initially, we faced a tough challenge in selecting one business leader as everyone had different opinions, Although, we later narrowed down and had a consensus to select “Sir Ratan Tata” as our business leader and “The Taj Mahal Palace” as our building model. After a strong brainstorming session for about 10minutes, we learned about each other’s area of expertise. Since we had limited time and plethora of work to finish, we divided our team into three small teams as R&D team, Model Building Team, and Presentation Team. We trusted each other throughout the process, which enabled us to do complete justice to our given task. In the end, we integrated our tasks and entire team briefed each other with minute details of every aspect of the presentation. Our presentation was loved by the jury and audience, which fetched us First Prize.
The entire process helped me to improve my bond with my teammates and taught us the true meaning of some key aspects of life such as Ownership, Leadership, Adaptability, Communication, Trust. The overall learning of team building activity was truly enriching.
