I interned with a startup which deals with handling portfolios . It provides advisory services for trading. I was offered a 'Junior Forex Security Analyst' role which is a decent profile for an intern to learn about trading techniques. So I joined the organization with a lot of excitement. My internship started on April 1st.

April 1,2019 --- I met about 14 interns there from different colleges and we were asked to sit in a room. After a few minutes, the business development officer came into the room and started to explain the things which we need to do during our internship. We were asked to sell the company trading course (the only course it launched recently)  worth Rs 2940/- We all are a bit surprised and taken aback after listening to her because none of us were aware of all these things. When we questioned about it she told us that we will be handling portfolio but had to sell courses too.

April 2- April 15--- We were given training about Forex market  in all those 15 days and we are not thinking much about selling courses. Director too visited us and addressed our concerns

April 16- April 30--- During this period we were trying to pitch in about courses and also trading in the Forex market. They also conducted a competition there which I won.

May 1 - May 5 --- By this time we are totally done with the training session and I really need to mention about my guide Ram who has wide knowledge about the market ( both Forex and Indian stocks)

May 5 - May 24--- We want to trade with the real money but at the same time bit skeptical about it because we were just trained for a month . So I started to do paper trading which really helped me a lot to gain confidence and I would suggest anyone who wants to trade professionally must start with paper trading not with the real money.

After my internship period I started to buy shares in small numbers to initiate my professional trading by analyzing the market and using indicators, of course I did not make good returns and I already know that trading is not that simple and more than 50% of the market players lose money but I decided not to give up on this.

Key lessons I learnt: Patience is the key factor to become successful trader

Never change 'STOP LOSS' when the share you bought is going down, accept the loss

Never change 'TAKE PROFIT' when the share you bought is going up, don't be too greedy

On the whole maintain 'MARKET DISCIPLINE'

My internship mentor : Portfolio manager is my mentor during my internship  and he is the one who taught us during our internship. He clarified all my doubts regarding the volatility of the stock market . He used to conduct lot of competitions to keep us motivated.I felt that he is the one person who has potential and vast knowledge about trading.
