Welcome to Bhubaneswar, the temple city of our country. A well-planned city with beautiful roads and a one hour drive to the famed Jagannath Puri temple. What adds more to this city is XIMB at Xavier’s Square, in the heart of the city. Now rechristened as Xavier University with schools of various disciplines under it, we have our beloved campus.
This campus has a legacy of 30 years and the institution was established by the Society of Jesus (Jesuits). Alma mater to some of the brilliant brains of the country, the college is famous for its rigorous academia and carries this legacy in the campus itself.
A special thing about XIMB is that every activity here is symbolized by X. Be it the biggest Eastern India B-school fest Xpressions, the various committees like X-Fin, X-Stage or the moments snatched from a busy schedule at the X-Cafe. We as first years have already learnt to ingrain this X-factor in our daily routine.
With a very diverse profile of 700+ students, this campus accepts all to be of the same grain, the future of our country. The various committees of this campus ensure a smooth sailing life. They also help give a glimpse of the corporate way of working to the students beginning right from the first day. But all work no play is not a policy here. Apart from the fest, the campus is alive with a lot of cultural engagement activities. We also celebrate all the festivals from across India with equal enthusiasm.
It is like a home away from home where the days starts with chirping birds as the campus is lush green, a refreshing cup of tea and then academics, sports, multiple peer-interaction sessions till late evenings which extends to library visits in the late hour. The Night Mess is a respite to all from late night hunger pangs. Oh, the campus is also home to a golden cat, Simba, who is loved by all.
It is a beautiful place to assimilate business acumen and also build strong relationships with peers, faculties and corporates. The experience so far has been enriching and enjoyable.
Which ABG company would I like to work for?
The ABG company that I would like to work for is Aditya Fashion and Retail Limited (ABFRL). The Madura Fashion & Lifestyle division of ABFRL was the first of its kind in the fashion retail sector in India.
Having worked for 43 months in an IT services company, I have experienced the work environment of a corporate and I wish to leverage my experience for the benefit of the company. Also, associating myself with this company would help me learn and grow further in my career path.
